In accounting base (or margin analysis) cost elements are assigned to an Account Assignment Type. G/L Accounts, opened as cost elements, are registered in COPA with different methods i.e. OKB9, COPA assessment, settlement from internal orders or wbs.
When with costing base you would use value field to collects your quantities or amounts, now is the account itself that gathers amounts and quantity informations.

Please know that I am familiar with OKB9, PA transfer structure etc. But I want to know if there is similar transaction like assigning conditions types to Value fields (Costing based) in Account based COPA also ? Or it is directly posted from the Conditions types -> Cost elements from the SD document ?
It is a new world entirely! You are not relegated to use PA transfer structure or SD conditions to have reporting information. From SD you have accounts determined from VKOA; COGS and variances are based on accounts as well and do not write into any value fields.
