Account assignment mandatory for material

Hi,

While creating contract i am facing this warning message..i can ignore this message , but what is the root cause for it.

Error is :

"Account assignment mandatory for material 100000040 (enter acc. ass. cat.)

Message no. ME062

Diagnosis

There is no provision for value-based inventory management for this material type in this plant. Account assignment is thus necessary.

Procedure

Please enter an account assignment category"

I checked Qty and value update in OMS2 also.

It is maintained.

Then what is wrong?

Hi,

If you have already maintained qty and value update indicator in OMS2 then you check the tcode OMWD for your plant , valuation grouping code is maintained or not. If not just maintain and try it .

If the material is non valuated then account assignment is mandatory.

Check value update for your plant and material type in OMS2.

Hi

If you have already maintaine the Qty and Value update indicator for the Plant and material type combination in OMS2, then this error will not come.

Please recheck your settings.

Hi Utsav,

You might be using material type NLAG - non stock material or UNBW - non valuated product. So it is asking for account assignment. if you are not using material master, acct.assignment is mandatory.

Hi,

Account assignment determination depend on the valuation class. When your account assinged category is mandatory in that case go and see the account modifier assigned in account assinged category. After that verify the G/L account in OBYC for key GBB and account modifier and respective valuation class assigned in material master.

If the entery does not exist then system will give you an error message.

Which material type you are using...if you are not using the material master then its necessary to use the account assignment in the PO...

You shd check material type settings...and let me know the same...
