Dear all,
does anyone know, why it is not possible to change the fiscal year when reversing a depreciation from a closed fiscal year in the actual fiscal year? The relevant input field is set to read-only, see screenshot:
The idea is, that the deactivated asset is activated again in the current fiscal year because the posting in closed periods is not possible. (It is not desired to open the closed periods of a closed year.)
Is there any official documentation of transaction AB08 that addresses the described problem?
Any help appreciated!

If you reverse the asset on a closed fiscal year, that impacts reporting. Has this been reviewed/discussed with the accountants?
You can try the suggestion here: https://answers.sap.com/questions/10007274/reactivate-retired-asset.html "Regarding your issue the assets gets reactivated once the asset deactivation date is removed from the asset master. Then system will allow to make acquisiton and also depreciation on such reactivated asset." - but I only recommend doing that in a test box first to see what happens and then review with your asset accountants.
