Can we configure AATP in such a way that all the sales order line items are fulfilled by a single plant (for saving freight).
E.g., Plant A has Material X – qty 0 and Material Y – qty 20
Plant B has Material X – qty 10 and Material Y – qty 10
Customer orders Material X – qty 10 and Material Y - qty 10. His default plant is Plant A. Sales order is created for the two line items with the requested quantities and Plant A on each line item.
Because of aATP ABC plant on Material X line item is changed to Plant B, but the plant on Material Y line item remains as Plant A.
Customer requirement is instead of checking availability at each line item and substituting individual plants at line items, can there be a logic to check availability for all items in each plant and select the one which satisfies all the requirements. The next level is maximum line items fully confirmed from same plant. The next level is full confirmation of each line item from different plants. Next is back order.
Request clarification before answering.

Hi Gina,
the requirement you describe in your question is basically known and absolutely valid. As of today Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC) in advanced ATP (aATP) considers one item at a time to determine the best alternative (location or product substitution). To address your requirement there is the need to consider multiple or all items of a order at once and find the best alternative.
In gATP this requirement was addressed with Multi Item Single Delivery Location (MISL). In aATP this is treated as known and valid requirement but it is still open.
Let me take the chance and ask a question back :-). What is in your eyes a good indicator to state that multiple (and also which) items shall participate in this best alternative determination?
For example:
Looking forward to your answer :-).

Hi andreas.krause2 , I don't know if SAP has been able to make any progress on the question in this thread, but this process is quite common and is one of the requirements of some customers. If the solution is still under discussion, is there any expansion point that we can consider the best alternative to meet all the items for the same plant?
gina.cowart Were you able to serve your customer?
Thanks!
