301 movement type....

Whats the purpose of 301 movement type....

Like I want to transfer stock from certain store location of one plant to another,without much affecting the accounting functions....

for this is 301 movement usefull....

Then what abt other movements like 303,305,313,315...

Plz help...

Movement Type:301

Movement type 301 is used to transfer material from a storage location in one plant to a storage location in a different plant. The value of the material is transferred at the moving average price of the issuing plant.

Movement 301 needs to be used each time material is moved from plant to plant. Normally both plants would be within the same agency and the physical distance not great when this movement type is used.The quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use stock in the issuing plant to unrestricted-use stock in the receiving plant.

Movement Type :303

Transfer posting plant to plant in two steps - removal from storage

The quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use stock of the issuing plant to stock in transfer in the receiving plant.

For technical reasons, you cannot carry out transfer postings from plant to plant in two steps for split valuation materials.

Removal from storage can be posted with movement type 603 via Shipping.

Movement Type :305

Transfer posting plant to plant in two steps - placement in storage

The quantity is posted from stock in transfer to unrestricted-use stock in the receiving plant. The movement is not valuated.

You can use movement type 605 in Shipping to post the goods receipt with reference to the delivery.

Movement Type :313

Stock transfer storage location to storage location in two steps - removal from storage

The quantity is transferred from unrestricted-use stock of the issuing storage location to stock in transfer in the receiving storage location.

Movement Type :315

Used for Transfer posting storage location to storage location in two steps - placement in storage

In the receiving storage location, the quantity is transferred from the stock in transfer to the unrestricted-use stock.

This is 2 step storage transfer -storage to storage within the same Plant.There will be no accounting entries as the stock is already valuated .

But I was searching for answer related to its effect on accounting,I know it takes MAPrice to receiving plant,but what will be its effect on GL,accounting doc...

Hi,

MT 301 is used to transfer stock from one plant to another plant in single step which will have value impact.

MT 303 and 305 are used to transfer stock from one plant to another plant in two steps which will also have value impact.

If you want to transfer stock from one location to other location in same plant, you can use MT 311 for single step and MT 313 and 315 for two step transfer.
