Hi All,
When we try to print the 1099 forms in SAP 2007, we notice that the default 1099 form layout prints one vendor per page. This would leave the second portion of the pre-printed 1099 form blank.
The correct format is to print two vendor records per 1099 form. Is there a way to get two vendor records to be printed on one page from SAP?
Thanks for your help on this!
Regards,
Payal
Hi Payal,
The first thing to try is setting the Repetitive Area to the highest # without it going back to printing one per page. I had it aligned almost perfect using 401 on my pc, but when the user setup needed the number be 398. This caused the same problem as you described. I was able to move the fields so that everything fit in the boxes, but they were close to the top of the boxes on the bottom form and close to the bottom of the boxes on the top form. It wasn't perfect, but it was the best solution, since SAP has yet to come up with one.
Good Luck.
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Thank you very much. This gave me the starting point to accommodate 2 vendor information on one 1099 form.
But currently the issue in hand is the alignment of fields. The top portion fits in very well in the form. But the fields do not align in the bottom portion.
Now if I try to move down the fields for the bottom portion, the top portions gets disoriented.
The issue I have is to keep the top portion as it is and to lower the bottom portion which I am just not able to achieve. Please let me know if you have any ideas to achieve this.
Thanks!

I was able to modify the 1099 MISC PLD form so it prints two vendors per page.
For Page Header, Start of Report, Repetitive Area Header, Repetitive Area Footer and End of Report I checked the box Area Height Adjustment (under the Format tab)
Make the Repetitive Area Height = 396 (This Number varied based on whether I was printing off a server or my pc)
Save the layout as a different name and test. I noticed the first page would only print one vendor, but the other pages printed two per page.
You will have to play with the alignment, so print on blank paper and hold it up to the form.
If it still prints one per page, try lowering the Repetitive Area Height some more.
Good Luck,
Kevin

Hi Payal,
There is limitation to PLD function to setup correct page like you mentioned. PLD treats one form as one page. Therefore, to print second form in the same page is not possible as of now. If this is a legal requirement, you may raise a development ticket to speed up a new solution from SAP.
Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Bishal,
Thank you for your reply on this.
The 1099 preprinted forms are meant to capture two vendor information on one form. The top portion covers the 1099 information of the first vendor and the bottom portion covers the 1099 details of the second vendor.
When we run the 1099 forms via SAP, only the top part is printed with the 1099 information of the first vendor. The second portion of the form is left blank. Then the 1099 information of the second vendor gets printed on a new 1099 form. Therefore SAP prints just one vendor information per 1099 form.
I was wanting to change the format of 1099 forms so when we print the 1099 forms, 2 vendors per form gets printed- which is the correct format.
Thanks,
Payal
