SAP S/4HANA offers a very wide spectrum of functionalities that span across all dimensions of your company. However, one dimension will always remain in the core of the business – namely Financials. With Financials you can always determine how is your company performing, how healthy is your business and of course where can you save money.
To give you a big picture view on the SAP S/4HANA financial functionalities, I would like to introduce you to our learning journey – Overview of Financials in SAP S/4HANA. This learning journey is already available on our brand-new learning platform, learning.sap.com, and is designed for a foundational learner level. Which means that you don’t have to bring any SAP knowledge to fully understand its contents, since it covers the basics.
This learning journey focuses of 3 main topics – Finance, Controlling and Treasury. It spans across 5 units and should take roughly 10 hours to complete.
In the first unit you will be able to get a general overview of Finance, Controlling and Treasury, as well as SAP’s modern user interface – SAP Fiori. The first unit is designed to give you a warm welcome into the world SAP S/4HANA Finance, already describing the basic concepts, like Client, Company Code or Controlling Area.
The second unit focuses on multiple areas of the General Ledger. Here you can discover G/L accounts, financial statements, and journal entries. Furthermore, you will be introduced to the asset accounting, learning the concept of tracking the lifecycle of your company’s assets.
The third unit introduces you to various financial operations with your customers and suppliers, or simply business partners. Here you will learn how to post incoming or outgoing invoices, as well as incoming or outgoing payments. Furthermore, you will be exposed to other modules of SAP S/4HANA that are tightly integrated with our Finance module – namely modules like Materials Management and Sales & Distribution.
In the unit 4 you will discover all important foundational concepts of management accounting, namely cost centers and WBS-elements. You will learn about cost allocations and discover value flow in product costing.
Finally, the unit 5 will give you an overview about the Treasury Management. This module covers bank and bank accounts master data, as well as bank statement processing, cash pooling and cash analysis.
Once you complete this learning – you will receive a record of achievement, a digital badge, that you could integrate on social platforms like LinkedIn or directly in your CV.
