The digital revolution began in the later half of the 20th century, and feels like technology keeps evolving in accelerated pace. Software and codes are everywhere, and if previously the word "Attachment" covered handful of file types, today it's uncountable! yes, there are images and documents of different formats, but there are also many formats of executable files that can be attached to e-mail threads and other electronic records. Unlike images or documents, clicking an executable directly executes the code it contains – depends on your business and processes – the result could be exactly what you were hoping for, but in some cases it may not …

To support closer monitoring and enable more advanced attachment handling, SAP Business One allows super users to define list of executable file formats that cannot be attached to documents and records:

A new option "Block Executable Attachments" is added to the "Path" tab in "General Settings". Once selected, clicking the browsing button next to it opens the "Block List Selection" window that lists 120 executable file formats, enabling you to either select all or select only the ones you want to block and keep the ones you trust and used by your business. A super user may update the selection of the file formats at any time as well as cancel the blocking completely.
