As I write this, there are still on-going meetings between the EU and the UK, despite various self-imposed deadlines being surpassed.
Boris Johnson says, “I’ve always been a great enthusiast for a trade deal with our European friends and partner” but the EU has said it will not do a deal “at any price”.
[i] This leads to the current landscape for business, one of uncertainty.
How can SAP help steady the waters in these turbulent times?
Let me introduce myself, I am a member of the SAP Globalisation Services localisation team here in the UK and Ireland and I would like to use this blog to give you some pointers of where to go to find the latest BREXIT information from an SAP product perspective.
The starting point for you is the SAP ONE Support Launchpad. It is available to all customers and partners and it can be found here
https://launchpad.support.sap.com.
By going to the launchpad you will find a tile App called “Announcement of Legal Change”
SAP ONE Support Launchpad
Announcement of Legal Change
This is the one source of the truth for legal changes SAP are applying to their products and it is your first port of call for information on any BREXIT changes. It is possible to go directly to the legal change announcement via this link
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/legalchangenotification.
Once inside the App, you can use the filters to find relevant legal change notices. For BREXIT announcements, use the Component filter “XX-CSC-GB”.
Don’t forget to press the “Go” button on the right-hand side, to apply any filter conditions you enter!
Announcement of Legal Change
You can step into the legal announcement by clicking on it.
The announcement will provide various information, including a Planned Delivery Date whenever possible. You will see that on the UK Withdrawal from the European Union announcement, there isn’t a planned delivery date, and the reason for that is we are waiting for official information from the Government, as to how the deal looks…if we even end up with a deal !
We can only implement against known and officially stated information. Once we have something concrete from the Government, we will update the legal notification along with any SAP relevant notes.
Notifications
That brings me to my second point, make sure you have your notifications setup, so that when new information is released, you are informed immediately.
When you are in the SAP ONE Launchpad, go to the top right hand corner and click on your name, from the menu select Manage Notifications.
Profile Menu
You will now see a screen where you can set whether you want notifications to show in the Launchpad, have them emailed to you, or an SMS sent – or all three.
Notification Settings
Be sure to set up notifications for “Announcement of Legal Change” and “My SAP Notes & KBA”.
SAP Notes
The next place to find information about BREXIT is via SAP Notes. For BREXIT we have created a “central” note, which will hold links to all the other product specific notes.
The BREXIT central note is number 2885225. You can find a link within the Legal Change Notification, or use this link
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2885225.
To make things easier, you can set this note as a favourite, by using the star in the top right corner.
Mark as Favourite
If it is coloured in, like the image above, then it is marked as a favourite. Whenever this note is updated, depending on your notification settings, you will be notified accordingly.
A final way you can get more information is to join us for a webcast.

In Summary
I hope that whilst I do not have a crystal ball, and so I cannot tell you what the future holds, I've at least been able to point you in the right direction, so that as and when information is released, you will be the first to know.
Thank you for reading.
