The one-month testing preview window is mainly for HR System Administrators to better prepare for the productive upgrade by learning about the enhancements and new features that are relevant to them, then to get the firsthand experience by testing those features, before the productive upgrade.
A lot of HR System Administrators may share the same concern: the quarterly Release Summary has a lot of information that is high level. Each quarter, before we commence the testing, a lot of the time is spent trying to understand the Release Summary and then figuring out which release item is actually applicable to us.
We heard your concern, dear HR System Administrator.
Here comes the good news: The new Release Center is going to be embedded in your Admin Center for your convenience, and it will be launched in the Q4 release!
Here are the benefits of the new Release Center:
Efficient
Instead of having to go through pages of the Release Summary again to find out which items are applicable to your instance, the new Release Center is located in your Admin Center. It will only list the universal features that are relevant to your settings.
Clear
The Release Center also includes the following tabs: “Show All”, “Reviewed”, and “Remaining”. You can check off a release item once you finished reviewing it. From now on, you can better control your reviewing progress, plan your reviewing efforts and always be clear about where you are.
Handy
Now you want to learn more about a particular feature.
There are two links listed under each feature - “Community” and “Documentation.” By clicking the “Community” link, it will bring you to the SAP SuccessFactors’ Customer Community page. By clicking the “Documentation” link, it will bring you to the help.sap.com website. You can find more detailed information such as the Administration Guide or User Guide for the topic you want to know more about. We understand the Community and the Help SAP portal are two of your most common go-to places. Now the links are embedded in each feature. You can find more information directly from there.
Did you notice that there is a video icon in the very first screenshot at the upper-right corner?
The quarterly Release Highlight video will be available in the Release Center as well. If you can’t find time to learn more about all the features and perform testing, you can certainly spend about 3 minutes listening to the release highlights in order to plan for the productive upgrade.

- With the 2016 Q4 release, Universal features will be available in the Release Center while the Opt-In features stay within the Upgrade Center. The Opt-In features are planned to be included in the Release Center around mid-2017.
- The “Documentation” link will bring you to the document you are looking for. For example, if you want to learn more about a new ORD (Online Report Designer) feature, click the Documentation link under that new feature. It will bring you to the Admin Guide of ORD and present you the document in HTML format.
