Hi Tobias,

I'm watching the movies.. very interesting stuff ! 🙂

It seems that the movie "Semantics - Filters" is  the same as "Semantics - Key Figures".Would you add the movie on the filters.

Thanks & Kind Regards,

Hi Tobias,

Got very excited seeing all the information on Real Estate Cockpit specially after seeing the launch event of S/4 Hana in New York, is it possible to access and compare to REFX.

Thank you, Rupen

Hi Tobias,

I noticed while going through all pdfs by mistake you have in Functionalities > Usage of Filters pdf at Usage of Tiles.

Thank you for all the information, Rupen

Hi Rupen,

thanks for your interest! Actually the RE Cockpit is based on the SAP RE-FX component.

The Cockpit consumes and visualizes data coming from the RE-FX tables via HANA calculation views (HANA Live content for RE-FX).

Tobias

Hello Tobias,

We installed the Real Estate Cockpit and installed the HANA Live Views for RE-FX on our HANA instance.  In the RE Cockpit configurator I can see the RE-FX views, except for the 5 queries. Hower, I can see these 5 too in the HANA Live Browser.

Would there an authorization be missing ? These are the roles that are granted to me :

sap.ead.rec.roles::SystemAdmin

sap.ead.rec.roles::Admin

sap.ead.rec.roles::Modeller

sap.ead.rec.roles::Composer

sap.ead.rec.roles::Consumer

Kind Regards,

Hi Tobias

Thanks  for the nice post and cockpit seems to be very interesting..

@Anyone:

We don't have the HANA box, but want to do the integration of the cockpit with the ECC via Gateway. Can you anyone guide, how can we get the already built UI's ?

This would save our time in building UI's, but we need to built the odata services...This may limit the complete usage of the cockpit, but at least we can use certain features.

Thanks,

Muttu

Hi Tobias,

Looks very much similar to SAP OPInt - is it leveraging OPInt?

Hi Kumar,

although there might be some similarities, the SAP Real Estate Cockpit does not leverage the SAP OPint.

Thanks and best regards,

Tobias

Hi Tobias, thank you very much for the blog post!

From a BASIS point of view, can you describe the components necessary to install/run the cockpit? This looks very similar to Fiori, does this run in a similar way?

Cheers,

Steve Wadley

Hi Tobias,

This is really a great post. I am keen to know more about this functionality.

Is there any study material available in SAP learning hub which can help me understand it more thoroughly.

Amar

Hallo Steve,

SAP Fiori is a collection of apps with a simple and easy to use experience for broadly and frequently used SAP software functions. Fiori itself does not make assumptions about the database your business is running on.

The SAP Real Estate Cockpit is a rather small and independent analytical application. It was developed specifically with and for customers in the Real Estate area. It is written and designed to run as a native app on top of the HANA platform. So you definitely need SAP HANA (SP9+) to run the Real Estate Cockpit. Technically this is all it requires. No need to install further components. It makes use of native HANA capabilities and libraries only. Even the SAPUI5 library comes pre-installed with SAP HANA. Data access is via HANA database directly with no ABAP stack involved.

Fiori and the Real Estate Cockpit both make use of the SAPUI5 (HTML5) library. Therefore you see similar UI design and interaction concepts.

Best regards,

Bernd

Hi Tobias,

Thanks a lot for this really interesting post and we are looking forward to see more about the cockpit. Reading de post, we have a doubt i hope you could give a bit of light. You know if SAP considers  in sFIN roadmap move REFX to Simple? Or REFX is just only supported by sFIN and REFX will work only on Hana.

Our Customer is considering to migrate to sFIN in a near future, and they are concern about the way REFX is moving also to Simple since real estate is the main business of thes company.

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Alberto

Hi Tobias,

While assigning the filter types for a dimension or parameter, there are only few pre-defined filter types.

What if I need to assign a filter which is not present in the filter type. How to add more filter types.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Asif

Hi Asif,

valid point. The filter types are currently predefined and we tried to include as many meaningfull filter types as possible.

We are planning to include configurable filter types in one of the next patches / SPs. If you have an urgent request to include a specific filter type that is currently missing, please let me know.

Thanks and best regards,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Thanks a lot for your reply. For now we are looking for Filters from Rental Objects. But providing a configurable filter types would be really great.

Also, I have couple of more issues in the configurator like Maps, OData, Text fields etc. Please let me know the proper forum to highlight them.

Best regards,

Asif

Configuring Remote Systems

Is there more detailed documentation for configuring remote systems?  I have a spreadsheet of data on Office One Drive.  While I have the http address I do not have the other 2 pieces of information required.  Is there documentation with how to get the Host Address and Destination ports?  Consider me non-technical!  Perhaps there is a preliminary Basis type step first?

Then once I bring in this data I need to configure the dataset for the layout - that gets done where?  Not seeing it in cockpit configurator.

thanks,

Ruth

Dear Ruth,

Unfortunately we can’t support spreadsheets from Office 365 One Drive in the RE Cockpit - only Hana Calculation Views and OData Services are supported.

The reason: Spreadsheets do not support the aggregation behavior we need to calculate the KPIs in combination with the filters. You basically need some layer which does this for you.

As a workaround it would be possible to convert the spreadsheet into a CSV file, create a Hana Table which mirrors the fields of the CSV and import it into the table with an HDBImport, then create a calculation view based on this and use the calculation view in our Real Estate Cockpit.

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Could you be so kindle and share some documents with more detail about  this RE functionality in RE for technical and functional consultants?

Questions:

Is this just present in S4HANA  suite or can be implemented in a ERP on HANA platform?

Are there in RE-FX significant changes on HANA like the tables and structures?

What about the TRM Add-on in RE-FX for CRM and RE-FX integration, will it also changed?

Thank you

Hi,

Just to clarify, can we use the Real Estate Management Cockpit directly with the S/4 HANA 1511 platform or do we still require the HANA Live/Edge setup to enable this?

Thanks,

Neeraj

Hey  tobias.decker,

Can you help out and tell me why we cannot get our custom views (components) to show up in the cockpit.  In the configurator they work but in the cockpit it says “invalid component configuration“.

Suggestions ?

Thanks,

Darren

It was a bug, SAP fixed it in SP3 of Cockpit + Enterprise Dashboard.

hi team,

PAM tells me this RE-FX Cockpit is End of maintenance 2018-06. Is this correct? Is there a successor or any other communication on it? Even the release note is in status "being created"
