With the SAP Enterprise Product Development 2202 release out, I have three very good news for you. First, the specification exchange scenario now works with the following source system releases:

  • SAP S/4HANA 2020 or later

  • SAP S/4HANA 1909

  • SAP S/4HANA 1809

  • SAP ERP Enhancement Package 8

You have to set up your destinations according to your source system release version, you can find the information here:
Destination for Collaborating on Specifications - SAP Help Portal

Second, we’ve also created a two-part video series with a high-level overview and a detailed scenario explanation for you, check them out:

Don’t forget that in my previous blogposts, I also showed you the videos about the administrative tasks.

Third, we have new, long-awaited functionalities. When transferring the data back to the source system from a provisional specification, you can choose to give a change number. You can also choose if you want to overwrite any existing data or not. If not, the system creates a new instance for you.

Note: Due to some technical limitations, as of now you can’t overwrite with a change number, but we are working on that scenario as well.

Here you can find the respective section of the User Guide: Transferring Data from a Provisional Specification - SAP Help Portal

Thanks for reading this blogpost and spread the good news.
