Sustainability remains an important topic at SAP both for our own operations (we’ve saved over $250 million over the last 4 years) but more importantly for our customers. While you might think the subject is limited to electric cars, solar/wind power and curbside recycling, companies are interested in a much broader agenda – they want to reduce energy and waste, make their products and operations more safe, and overall save money.
Thus the color of sustainability is green for sure, but you can include the green that companies are saving by addressing sustainability objectives!
We continue to see strong interest from customers for the following 4 topics, and all topics will be addressed all around Sapphire:
- Energy & Environmental Management: We’ll have Dow Corning speaking on how they save energy thanks to real time visibility, and Freeport McMoRan, a major mining company, will join a roundtable discussion on developing your own energy roadmap
- Operational Risk Management: This subject is all about identifying, then reducing risks in your operations. And we'll be identifying dangerous situations right on the show floor! We will have a demo presentation on a new “Safety Issue” mobile app and First Solar and Tesoro will speak about their broad use of SAP as an early adopter of the most recent release of our SAP EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) solutions, and we’ll hold a roundtable discussion on developing your own approach to reducing risk in your operations
- Product Safety & Stewardship: Most any company that manufactures a product will need to comply with regulations to ensure the safe use and handling of their product. SAP has driven huge efficiencies (up to 80% reduction of manual effort) for customers in managing these detailed regulations by supplying a common business process, central data and pre-configured content. Varian Medical, Kimberly Clark and others will discuss their own experience,
- Sustainability Reporting & Analytics - Companies increasingly realize that external sustainability reporting requires the same kind of business process discipline and need for central/integrated data as any other business process. Join a panel discussion how leads such as Novus International, the Carbon Disclosure Project and ITC Infotech are addressing this
All of these topics will be supported by demo pods on the show floor, staffed by our best solution experts.
