We’ve been busy to deliver you some useful new features in the November release. Let me list them and also pinpoint some other interesting materials.

Product master assignment

You can now allow product master assignment for specifications. You can do this by selecting this option in the Specification Types app, and this will be applicable for all specifications belonging to this specification type. This requires certain administrative tasks beforehand, since you have to connect Specification Management to a source system containing your product masters.

Order of property nodes and properties

You can move property nodes and properties within one level of a property tree in any order you like. This free ordering of objects makes it possible for companies to determine the exact order of properties. Besides an easy overview and comparison between older or external specifications and specifications within SAP Enterprise Product Development, this is also useful for example to go in the order of importance.

Data not available or not applicable

There are two new settings for your properties: Allow for Not Applicable, and Allow for No Data Available. Administrators can select either or both of them, and then the product developer has the possibility to declare that there is no data or the given property is not applicable for that specification.

A new video available

There is a new video that explains the cut and paste functionality for property trees in detail. Check it out:
