Product sourcing now offers improved visibility to bidders in the source-to-pay cycle. Previously, it was only possible to add business partners with the role "Supplier" to a supplier list that is used in a sourcing project. Now, purchasers can also add business partners with the role "Bidder" to such a supplier list. Apart from that, users can now simulate the pricing for sourcing transactions.

Bidder support in the sourcing project

Formerly, only suppliers who had the role "Supplier" assigned to them could participate in a bidding process and submit quotations for published sourcing requirements. Suppliers who only had the role "Bidder" assigned to them could not participate in these processes. Though not recognized as suppliers, bidders can now be added to the supplier list, which is a list of suppliers that your company advises you to use for the sourcing processes. Additionally, bidders can submit quotations to meet a company's sourcing requirements. Within the sourcing project, a central purchaser can view a supplier quotation that was submitted by the bidder for a published sourcing project. However, if the most suitable supplier quotation was submitted by a bidder, the purchasing company will need to run the relevant processes and maintain the bidder as a supplier in the relevant master data.
You can assign the role "Bidder" or "Supplier" to a business partner in the application 'Manage Business Partner Master Data'.

Simulate price for supplier quotation

Suppliers can simulate prices for quotations, based on a 'Condition Type' that pricing in a supplier quotation is based on. This feature helps the user try out different scenarios to find out the best one. For instance, to the supplier, the simulate feature fetches the requested price and its components for the specified quantity of an item. The supplier can access the feature in the application 'Supplier Managed Sourcing Projects'.
