Dear SAP S/4HANA Cloud enthusiasts, welcome to my blog illustrating the latest innovations regarding extensibility, localization, as well as identity and access management. In addition, to my blog on Extensibility, Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Localization with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2102, we provide many innovations for localization with document compliance for Poland and Australia, as well as the enablement of Time-Dependent Taxes (TDT) for Switzerland, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Luxembourg. In addition, we ship new features with the Customs CDS Views app.
SAP S/4HANA Cloud localization enables global expansion of businesses addressing legal mandates and the country/region-specific functionalities. With ‘out-of-the-box’ 43 local versions and 27 languages, the innovations are expanding constantly. You can access the extensive list of country/region-specific functionalities on the SAP Help Portal.
Governments are going digital and businesses need to keep up with the pace of the digital transformation. Here are a few recent innovations addressing these growing needs. SAP Document Compliance supports creation of electronic documents to fulfil the B2G e-invoicing requirement in public procurement in Poland. SAP Document Compliance is an integrated end-to-end process to create electronic documents. You use the Peppol Exchange service to exchange electronic documents between your company and your business partners using the Peppol network.

As part of the overarching Digital Business Plan, e-invoicing has recently been made mandatory for federal procurements by mid of 2022 in Australia and this requirement is addressed via SAP Document Compliance.

Further innovations include enablement of Time-Dependent Taxes (TDT) for Switzerland, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Luxembourg, adding further to the list of TDT- enabled countries/regions, and Value Added Tax (VAT) Pro-Rata enablement for countries/regions with Pro-Rata VAT Calculation .The restriction note '3045446 - SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2105, Local Versions: Release Information & Restriction Note' provides guidance on specific scope information and any restriction in release 2105 related to country/region-specific features and localized configuration content.
With the SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2105 release, the following features were added:
Supported Capabilities are attributes of SAP views that can be used as data sources in custom CDS views. Supported capabilities describe how a view is supposed to be used. There are two capabilities that are particularly relevant when building custom CDS views. These are “Modelling Data Source” and “Association Target”. From 2105 onwards, you will be guided to use data sources that are suitable for modelling according to these capabilities.
Publishing was enhanced to update adjacent views where seamlessly possible (e.g., to promote updates to the access protection that were done in underlying SAP views).
Checks on Data Type Compatibility were reworked and enhanced to also allow comparisons with different data types. This feature was also downported to the 2102 release.
The Overview Page has been extended with
the publishing and generation status
the column 'Exported'
Color Coding available for
issues in existing custom CDS views (rework or checks)
adding data sources (suitability of data sources)
tabs (for easier identification of issues)
Was moved to a tab and can therefore be reached at any time
Now displays changes to adjacent views if there are any
Now reflects the publishing or check status in its color
The Dimension Scenario now allows to adapt key attributes to enable the usage of custom BOs in analytical dimensions.
With this app you can monitor publishing processes for custom communication scenarios and business catalog extensions. You can use the app to filter for a certain status, such as 'Successful' or for a certain object type, such as a custom communication scenario. In addition, you can view the details of the publishing process or restart a publishing process if required.
As with the last releases, we continue to have this release-specific SAP Note. Attached to this note, there is a central spreadsheet in the form of an Excel file which lists all IAM-related changes that have been introduced since the SAP S/4HANA Cloud release 2102. With IAM-related changes I mean all changes that affect applications, business catalogs, business role templates, and restriction type assignments. Please note that the spreadsheet only shows changed objects, it is not meant as a comprehensive list.
The changes listed in the attached central spreadsheet cover:
New, renamed, deprecated, or deleted apps
New, renamed, deprecated, deleted, or dependent business catalogs
New and renamed business role templates
Renamed business groups
Restriction type assignments
