Integration

Rebuilt of Integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

We have rebuilt the integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as a frontrunner to deliver on the intelligent enterprise architecture. This includes the aligned workforce data model that will be used by all SAP applications. In addition, SAP Cloud Platform Master Data Integration is introduced into the landscape. This has several benefits: The setup of integrations is simplified and thanks to the aligned data model, replication errors are minimized.

The relevant scope items for the integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central are 4AF and 4AJ.

Exchange Rate Export for Integration with SAP Concur

With the Exchange Rate export, you can send maintained currency pairs to your Concur system, thereby ensuring that the same rates are used by both systems. Then, when an employee creates an expense report using a currency pair, expense types in the foreign currency are automatically calculated for the local currency per your defined export. The existing exchange rates in the Concur system will be updated to reflect the latest export.

All available currency pairs that match your exchange rate type will be exported to the Concur system. You can determine the exchange rate type via the Exchange Rate wizard from the Setting Up the Integration with SAP Concur screen. The relevant scope item for this is 'Travel Expense Processing with SAP Concur Expense Professional' (‏1M1‏).

Automated Provisioning via SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance

The next integration scenario in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005 is from the GRC area. It is the automated user provisioning with SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance. The corresponding scope item is called 3AB and integrates SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors, and SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance. It allows you to automate provisioning in SAP S/4HANA Cloud based on employee events in SAP SuccessFactors. Thanks to this, you can seamlessly manage and instantly update user permissions with embedded compliance for the entire employee life cycle – from hire to retire – across the enterprise landscape. This also includes immediate removal of access in case of termination.

If you are interested in more information on this integration scenario, you can read my blog about Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005.

Privacy Risk Detection with SAP Privacy Governance

My last integration scenario is also from the GRC area: The detection of privacy risks with SAP Privacy Governance. The corresponding scope item is called 3KX and is brand new. As you are well aware, the use of personal information is strictly regulated by various data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR in the EU). Consequently, companies face privacy risks when collecting and processing personal information. By integrating SAP S/4HANA Cloud with SAP Privacy Governance, compliance specialists can now automatically detect data privacy anomalies in their connected SAP S/4HANA Cloud systems.

If you are interested in more information on this integration scenario, you can read my blog about Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005.

Localization

Starter Packs for Select Countries for SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005

My next topic is localization. As of SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2002, we deliver 43 local versions and 25 languages. With the new release  2005, we provide additional so-called SAP S/4HANA Cloud, starter packs for select countries.

The starter packs are local versions for specific localities that allow you to run a fixed list of scope items covering basic business processes from finance, sales, procurement, and from professional services. They can be activated for Belize, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Sambia, and Zimbabwe.

The starter packs are part of your SAP S/4HANA Cloud subscription and therefore come with no additional cost. If you’re interested to see a comprehensive list of the scope items that are included with the starter packs, you can check out SAP Innovation Discovery.

Please Note

Starter packs don’t offer country/regional-specific legal requirements. However, for supported scenarios (such as compliance reporting), you can leverage the Localization Toolkit for SAP S/4HANA Cloud to extend the solution.

Master Data

Support of New Gender Values

So far, for business partners of the type 'Person', it was possible to maintain 'Male', 'Female', and 'Unknown' in the system. As of SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005, it is possible to maintain two additional values: 'Nonbinary' and 'Not specified'. 'Nonbinary' is for identities other than male or female and 'Not specified' is for any identity with legal rights choosing not to specify the gender. This is not only a matter of data accuracy and compliance, but also a matter of respect. The feature is part of localization and complies with the respective local legal requirements.

Enhanced Scope Coverage in SAP Fiori Apps and OData

With SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005, the three master data apps 'Manage Business Partner Master Data', 'Manage Supplier Master Data', and 'Manage Customer Master Data' offer additional features:

Dunning Data
Sometimes your business partners may fall behind on payments. You can send them a payment reminder or a dunning notice to remind them of their outstanding debts. You can maintain dunning details under Company Code.

Interest Calculation
You can determine and post interest receivables for open items. You can define the Interest Indicator and the date until which interest is calculated under Company CodeFinance > Interest Calculation.

User Experience

New Display Option for SAP Fiori Launchpad with Spaces and Pages

When you first log on to SAP Fiori Launchpad, you'll see the apps and groups or sections that have been preconfigured for you. How the apps are displayed here depends on how the SAP Fiori Launchpad has been configured for you.
There are two options available:
  • Classic 'Home Page' layout: there is one page that contains your apps clustered in groups
  • New 'Spaces and Pages' layout: Available as of SAP S/4HANA 2005, with this layout, you have one or more spaces, that contain a page. The page shows your apps clustered in different sections

The beauty of the Spaces and Pages layout is that it provides more flexibility regarding which apps are shown on a page. Your administrator can now assign pages defined for specific user groups delivered by SAP to you or he can create own user-group specific pages. By this, a page should show less apps that are more precisely adapted to your needs.

You might ask yourself now, how you can switch between the display options: The answer is easy: How the apps are displayed is set by your administrator. You may be able to decide which display you prefer if your administrator has enabled this option for you. Go to the Settings dialog and enable (or disable) the spaces mode. When you change the status and save your changes, the launchpad will be restarted.
