In this article I would like to provide the information about Reference Business and Solution Architecture, or “Best Practices”, proposed by SAP as a business software vendor to Chemicals and other Process Industries.

What is the SAP Enterprise Architecture

Before jumping into the industry content, I would like to explain what these “Best Practices” or the Reference Business and Solution Architecture are in general. This is set of pre-defined SAP provided content which includes:

You may also drill down to Level 3, Level 4 (capabilities) and further. Later on I will explain this in details. Also please note that same level of details we have prepared and published for all E2E business processes and domains.

Two types of deployment

Today SAP proposes two deployment strategies for Solution Architecture for our respective customers in Chemicals and Process Industries:

  • Hybrid, which is based on RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition (link)
  • and Cloud, which is based GROW with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition (link)

These deployment strategies are being developed and positioned by SAP for different customer segments. Either you are global multinational business with different product divisions, or strong regional company, or medium or even small chemical fabric with grow ambitions – you will find and leverage the solution strategy and related reference content which fits you best. You can find more information about on our site sap.com.

From the Enterprise Architecture point of view, we have also developed and published two contents chapters both for Solution Capabilities and for Respective SAP Solutions. So, you can find and leverage Best Practices content for each type of deployment – depending on your Business Strategy and Intention to Cloud Services.
