Introduction
Below you can find some details that it is important to check the availability of expected standard functions (like item details during approval process) in S/4 releases. In this case in 2020 the functionality is not existing.
At later stage you can find this function in the same fiori apps (see details below):
S/4HANA 2020
You can see within the app "My Inbox" the workitems which the approver needs to approve. Sometimes it is necessary to see some more details which are existing on PR item level. You can click on the PR item and will expect to be displayed the PR item details.
As you can see in S/4HANA 2020 the details are not shown. The root cause is not that customizing is missing. It is not, because (which is described in many SNOTES) of visualization parameters which are wrong or missing.
The root cause is: this is normal SAP Standard behaviour in release S/4HANA 2020. In case you need to see the item details you need to open the PR in another fiori app (e.g. Monitor Purchase Requisition Items (F2424))
Workaround to see the item details:
- You can enter the item number and open e.g. the fiori app Monitor Purchase Requisition Items (F2424)
- Monitor Purchase Requisition Items (F2424)
You can enter the item details here. - You can see all the item details
Otherwise you need to upgrade to the latest S/4HANA release to have the item details within the My Inbox app.
Conclusion
There are multiple cases where some "standard" functions are missing in fiori in older S/4HANA releases. In this case I was able to find a SNOTE about it. Sometimes you can find specific SNOTES with some details which functions are available in which S/4HANA release.
