Important Note: Deprecation effective 2410

CSV support to upload service organization in SAP Project and Resource Management will no longer be supported and will be removed in the future release of 2410. This feature will be replaced by replication of service organization through SAP Master Data Integration System to resource management.

As a prerequisite, you need to setup integration with SAP Cloud ALM and SAP Master Data Integration system in the current preparation phase.

After you setup SAP Master Data Integration for service organization, the replication of service organizations from SAP S/4HANA Cloud to resource management is simulated during the preparation phase. You can validate the results of the simulation in SAP Cloud ALM system by referring to the success or error details (reasons for issues might for example be inconsistencies due to the manual maintenance in resource management). Accordingly, the data in SAP S/4HANA Cloud or resource management can be updated and the replication can be retriggered.

For simulating the replication of service organization to resource management, follow steps below:

  1. Replicate project service organization data from SAP S/4HANA Cloud to SAP Master Data Integration
  2. Set filters for service organization
  3. Replicate service organization

1. Replicate project service organization data from SAP S/4HANA Cloud to SAP Master Data Integration

2. Set Filters for Service Organization (Preparation Mode)

Set filters to replicate service organization data from SAP Master Data Integration system to SAP Project and Resource Management.

Prerequisites

Refer to the following essentials:

  • You have subscribed to Business Data Orchestration. More information: Subscription Process for SAP Master Data Orchestration
  • You have been assigned the MasterDataOrchestrationAdmin role. With this role, you can access the Manage Distribution Model app on the SAP Master Data Integration (Orchestration) launchpad.

Context

You can use the Manage Distribution Model app to set filters for service organization replication. Service organization data is used to create resource organization in resource management.

For more information, see Maintenance of the Distribution Model in Business Data Orchestration.

Procedure

  1. Open the Manage Distribution Model app.
  2. Choose Create.
  3. Enter the following information for service organization:

Option

Description

Model

Enter a name for the distribution model, for example: SO_RM

Business Object Type

sap.odm.project.ProjectServiceOrganization

Recurrence

Minimum five minutes

API

MDI_LOG_PROJECT_SERVICE_ORGANIZATION (API Version 7.0.0)

Provider

MDI

Consumer

The identifier for the client that you provided as the businessSystemId parameter in the service instance of the SAP Master Data Integration service.

   4. Under Object Selection, choose the filters from below list to be included or excluded and click on Save:

    • ProjectServiceOrganisation.associatedCostCenters.costCenter.id
    • ProjectServiceOrganisation.companyCode.id
    • ProjectServiceOrganisation.displayId
    • ProjectServiceOrganisation.distributionChannelCode.code

3.  Replicate Service Organization Data (Preparation Mode)

Set up and activate replication schedules for service organization.

Prerequisites

  • You are a configuration expert and have been assigned the required role.
  • The cost center replication has taken place.
  • You have set filters in the distribution model, for replicating service organization data from SAP S/4HANA Cloud to resource management.

Context

You can trigger the replication of service organizations from SAP Master Data Integration to resource management using the Manage Replication Schedules app. The jobs listed in the app are automatically set up once you have subscribed to the SAP Project and Resource Management SaaS application.

The initial replication must be set up using the one-time schedule. You can then set up a recurring schedule for the replication to occur at a set repeat interval.

Procedure

  1. Open the Manage Replication Schedules app.
  2. Select the radio button of the replication schedule with the business object type Service Organization and pattern One-time and choose Activate.
  3. Select the date and time when you want the replication to occur and activate the schedule.

Note

The one-time replication must be completed before you can activate the recurring replication schedule.

  1. Once the one-time replication has finished, select the radio button of the replication schedule with the business object type Service Organization and the pattern Recurring and choose Activate.
  2. Enter how frequently you want the replication to occur and activate the schedule. It is recommended to have the frequency as daily.

You can monitor the replication of service organization data in SAP Cloud ALM and view the details. If the validation fails, you can make the required corrections and retrigger the replication.
