Most SAP implementation partners and some SAP customers have experiences with SAP ECC system, which has some planning features such as sales and operation planning; costing-based COPA planning; cost center expense planning; cost center activity quantity planning; and planned activity rate calculation etc. While these legacy features still exist in S/4HANA private edition (deactivated by default), they are no longer available in S/4HAHA Public Cloud. Similar requirements can be easily achieved in SAP Analytics Cloud Planning and in S&OP, Business Integration Planning, then planned data can be exported to S/4HANA through SAP standard integration, alternatively; planning activities can be done in a non-SAP system, and post plan data to S/4HANA Cloud either via excels or API. In this series of blogs, we are going to introduce the planning and budgeting features in S/4HANA Cloud, interfaces, and integration with SAC Planning.
These are three ways to populate plan data in S/4HANA Cloud.
In this blog, we are going to introduce 1st option of import plan data via excels.
Open Fiori app Import Financial Plan Data and click download templates. There is a list of templates. We are going to use Market Segment Planning to upload planned revenue and cost.
Please note more fields can be added to the default template. Refer to Help Portal Fields for Financial Plan Data Import. I have inserted Profit center and Sold Material as additional characteristics for planned revenue and cost. Assuming we have finished planning activities outside SAP system and have converted the planned data into the required excel format.
Choose Browse CSV Files and select the target excel file. You can first test import before hitting the Import Source File button.
Jump to Display Financial Plan Data to view the results.
You can also use Fiori app Market Segments - Plan/Actual to view the uploaded planned revenue and cost of goods sold.
This blog has mentioned the different ways to populate financial plan data in S/4HANA Cloud and demonstrated how to upload plan data using excel templates. In the next blog, we are going to show how to send plan data to S/4HANA Cloud using API.
