We are kicking off a 10-episode SAP SuccessFactors radio series, SAPRadio Changing the Game with HR, on May 26 that will air every other Thursday at 11 AM PT/ 2 PM ET on the VoiceAmerica network Business Channel. Our first show starts at the top: HR in the boardroom.
As the saying goes: if you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu. More and more, both public and private company CHROs are finding themselves in the enviable position...; earning a seat at the table with the very people who set policies and procedures of the business.
There is no higher form of leadership than a board of directors. Because HR is responsible for setting and executing the people strategy for a business, it makes sense why productive boards want access to HR. Yet, research findings from Cornell University report that many CHROs feel least prepared to talk policy, governance, and strategy at the board level than most other emerging mandates. With more and more government policies focused on human capital topics, where infractions may result in direct financial and criminal implications to individual board members, there has never been a time where the role of CHRO has had higher stakes.
Tune into HR in the Boardroom: The good, the bad, and the ugly where we will cover trends and implications, including:
My fellow panelists include Barbara Ocain, Global Strategic Advisor at SAP SuccessFactors, and Fabiana Lacerca-Allen, President of Ethiprax, a compliance consulting firm, public company board member, and former public company Chief Compliance officer. Fabiana worked closely with the US Office of the Inspector General on refining the Corporate Integrity Agreement requirements, holding significant implications for HR in the boardroom.
