While creating any external field via KUT and you use Field type as Decimal Number, after clicking on save it will not throw an error even the field is set as mandatory.
This is a known limitation in Byd.
If you want the mandatory check to be happen then based on your requirement you need to select the string field like any Text 120 field or Extended Text.
