Hola, SAP Community!
Today, I will explore the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition world and provide some handy tips and information about the Reset Transactional Data Job. Let's get started!
While implementing SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, you may need to run the Reset Transaction Data job in the Schedule Accounting Data Changes app for various reasons.
When running this job, you may encounter the following error: FINS_ML_START013 Material stock (company code xxxx) must be booked out in last two MM periods.
This error is caused by the company code's stock of materials not being zero for the last two periods (the previous and current periods).
Follow the steps below to fix this error:
Step 1: Validate Open Period for Materials
Open the Close Periods app. Input the company code, period, and fiscal year. Then select "Check period only."
The next screen will display the chosen company code's current open period (122024 = December 2024).
Step 2: Review the Inventory Balance
Open the Material Inventory Values—Balance Summary app. In the scenario below you can see the balance for the previous and current periods are greater than zero.
December 2024(current period) with 2,996 PCs.
November 2024 (previous period) with the same values.
Step 3: Check the Status of the Inventory Quantity
Only materials with Unrestricted Use Stock status can be booked. If you have stock with another stock status, you must first set those values to zero.
For this example, I reversed the blocked materials document.
The quantity of the materials is updated.
The values are then automatically updated in the inventory balance.
December 2024 had 1,996 PCs.
November 2024 had the exact quantities and values.
Step 4: Book the Material Stock
Open the Post Goods Movement (MIGO) app and generate a "Post goods issue" with movement type 562 for quantity 1,996 PCs using a posting date of the previous period.
Step 5: Confirm the Inventory Balance is Zero
Return to Material Inventory Values – Balance Summary app and validate that the balance for both periods (last and previous) is zero.
Step 6: Run the Reset Transaction Data Job
Create a Reset Transaction Data job in the Schedule Accounting Data Changes app and add the values for the corresponding company code.
Once successfully executed, the application will display a log of deleted records, which can be downloaded in PDF format.
Following these steps, you can effectively execute the Reset Transactional Data Job in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
