Hello and welcome to my blog illustrating the latest and greatest highlights for Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) with SAP S/4HANA 2020. In this blog, I illustrate what is new with SAP S/4HANA for International Trade such as Intrastat processing for Cyprus, the display of the trade compliance status of sales orders and deliveries in the 'Sales Order Fulfillment Issues' app, and much more. After that, I explain how you can benefit from privacy risk detection by integrating with SAP Privacy Governance. If you are interested in what is new for SAP Assurance and Compliance Software for SAP S/4HANA, I highly recommend that you read my blog Highlights for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) in SAP S/4HANA 2020: Part 2 – SAP Assurance and....

International Trade Management

Let's start with International Trade Management. As you know, the innovations for International Trade Management are part of SAP S/4HANA and come with no additional cost for SAP S/4HANA customers

Trade Compliance

Trade Compliance Status in 'Sales Order Fulfillment Issues' App

As of SAP S/4HANA 2020, Internal Sales Representatives can now display the trade compliance status of sales orders and deliveries in the 'Sales Order Fulfillment Issues' app by filtering for 'Trade Compliance Issue in Sales Orders' and 'Trade Compliance Issue in Delivery' as issue types. On the corresponding tile in the SAP Fiori Launchpad, these issue types are reflected now, too.

If you select a blocked sales order in the 'Sales Order Fulfillment Issues' app, you can jump directly to the respective sales order in the 'Track Sales Order' app. In the Details section, you can display the legal control status, the embargo status, and the watch list screening status of the respective sales order.

Watch List Screening Checks for Sales Contracts, Sales Orders Without Charge, and Purchasing Scheduling Agreements with SAP Watch List Screening

As of SAP S/4HANA 2020, you can ensure legal compliance with regard to sanctioned-party list screening for sales contracts, sales orders without charge, and purchasing scheduling agreements by calling the screening application for SAP Cloud Platform with the trade compliance document in SAP S/4HANA and exclude any individual customer names or addresses used in business processes from all lists of sanctioned parties, e.g. companies' denied-party lists.

Embargo Checks for Sales Contracts, Sales Orders Without Charge, and Purchasing Scheduling Agreements

Within the 'Manage Documents - Trade Compliance', Trade Compliance Specialists can display and edit the embargo status of trade compliance documents that will be created from sales contracts, sales orders without charge or purchasing scheduling agreements. You can display blocked partners as well as release or confirm the embargo block.

Within the app 'Resolve Blocked Documents', trade compliance specialists can display blocked embargo documents and confirm or release the embargo blocks for trade compliance documents that will be created from sales contracts, sales orders without charge or purchasing scheduling agreements.

Legal Control Checks for Sales Orders Without Charge and Purchasing Scheduling Agreements

Within the 'Manage Documents - Trade Compliance' app, Trade Compliance Specialists can display and edit the legal control status of trade compliance documents which will be created from sales orders without charge or purchasing scheduling agreements. You can display licenses assigned to trade compliance documents and additional attributes, such as assigned control classes or commodity codes. You can also edit trade compliance documents by adjusting the license assignment and classification.

Within the  'Resolve Blocked Documents' app, Trade Compliance Specialists can display blocked legal control documents and resolve blocks - due to missing classifications or missing licenses - for trade compliance documents that will be created from sales orders without charge or purchasing scheduling agreements.

Initial Document Transfer for Integration with Compliance Management in SAP Global Trade Services

This innovation is about the integration between International Trade and Compliance Management in SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS). It allows you perform an initial transfer of sales documents, inbound, and outbound delivery documents from S/4HANA for the integration of compliance management with the SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) application. The benefit of this is that you can continue to use your existing installations of SAP GTS for handling all global trade scenarios. The scheduling of the document transfer is done within the Job Scheduling Framework. The required business role is SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR_SLL. There are three new apps at your disposal:

  • The 'Schedule transfer of inbound deliveries - Global Trade Services' app to schedule the transfer of your inbound deliveries to SAP Global Trade Services.

  • The 'Schedule transfer of sales documents - Global Trade Services' app to schedule the transfer of your sales documents to SAP Global Trade Services.

  • The 'Schedule transfer of outbound deliveries - Global Trade Services' app to schedule the transfer of your outbound deliveries to SAP Global Trade Services.

Privacy Governance

Quick Intro

As the use of personal information is strictly regulated by various data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR in the EU), companies face privacy risks when collecting and processing personal information. These risks can be addressed by using SAP Privacy Governance.

If you would like to have a quick overview of what you can do with SAP Privacy Governance, I recommend that you read my blog on GRC with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2005 where I have inserted a introductory section on the capabilities of SAP Privacy Governance.

Please note that SAP Privacy Governance is a separately licensed product offering.

Privacy Risk Detection with SAP Privacy Governance (3KX)

One mayor highlight regarding GRC in SAP S/4HANA 2020, is the automatic detection of privacy risks by integrating SAP Privacy Governance with SAP S/4HANA. Thanks to this, Compliance Specialists can now automatically detect data privacy anomalies in their connected SAP S/4HANA systems, providing insights on regulatory reporting and proactive auditing. The corresponding scope item is called 3KX and requires - as mentioned above - additional licensing.

The detection of privacy risks is closely linked to Information Lifecycle Management. For this reason, as a prerequisite ILM needs to be activated and retention rules have to be maintained for the relevant ILM objects.

With SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2020, we support the following detection scenarios:

  • Correct setup of retention rules for respective ILM objects for a specified type of data, such as sales orders

  • Sales orders which have not been destroyed correctly based on retention rules

  • HR records, meaning staff challenges data, staff basic pay data, staff address data, staff payment data, staff payment details, which have not been destroyed correctly based on retention rules

  • Procurement data, meaning purchase orders and purchase info records, not destroyed correctly

  • Objects in Contract Accounting, meaning posting documents, contract accounts, and payment data from payment runs, that have not been destroyed correctly

  • Blocked business partners that are not destroyed correctly

  • Business partners records of former employees that are not blocked correctly
