Agility and flexibility are key qualities for building a successful business. Take inventory management as example – not only the variety of items may change overtime – depends on your customers and vendors you may have to maintain their catalog numbers in addition to your own coding method. But who can keep track over the codes? Item descriptions are much more intuitive, and many times it's much faster to find an item by its name… after all, if your business partners maintain different coding system, they may assign different item descriptions as well. For that reason SAP Business One enables you to define for each BP catalog number the corresponding description:
Use the "BP Catalog Description" column to assign the relevant description to each catalog number. When creating marketing documents, this column appears in the "List of Alternative Items and Catalog Number" form, enabling you to find the item you need more efficiently:
