Video 1: Highlights for Asset Management in the 2408 release
Maintenance Management
Mass Change Custom Fields of Maintenance Plans and Maintenance Items
With the Manage Maintenance Plans (F5325) app and the Manage Maintenance Items (F5356) app, you can now change custom fields of multiple maintenance plans and maintenance items respectively by choosing the Mass Change button. Previously, you were only able to perform mass changes on predefined fields. But now, you can also perform mass changes on custom fields that you have created. This flexibility allows you to tailor the system to your specific needs and streamline your maintenance processes.

In addition, you can do the same using the Maintenance Plan and Maintenance Item OData API.
Perform Maintenance Jobs app - Enhancements
Recording of the “As-found” Condition
As a Maintenance Technician, the Perform Maintenance Jobs app allows you to review, execute, and report on dispatched jobs. Until now, Malfunction Data was only available if the order had an associated notification. However, we've now added the functionality to record the as-found condition of the maintained asset in a proactive maintenance job, even when the maintenance order has no assigned maintenance notification, such as when the order is generated directly from a maintenance plan.
In addition, this enhancement enables you also in reactive maintenance to record failure data against a dedicated notification in case the technical object on the order operation differs from the technical object on the order header.
Service details enablement
Furthermore, the Perform Maintenance Jobs app now displays lean service details and its status for an operation. This enhancement not only improves user experience but also boosts the recording of asset reliability data.

My Maintenance Requests app – Filter for Maintenance Requests
With the My Maintenance Requests app, you can now filter, group, or sort maintenance requests by various parameters such as planning plant, planner group, main work center, maintenance plant, technical object, location, and more. For this purpose we added the filter bar to the app. This powerful filtering capability enables you to quickly find the information you need, improving your efficiency and productivity.
In the next video I'm stepping into the shoes of a maintenance planner who is searching for maintenance requests with notification processing context 'Emergency Work'.
Support Equipment PRT in UI, OData API and Data Migration Cockpit
You can now do the following if the category of the equipment is P (Production resources/tools):
- Create, view, and update production resources/tools (PRT) using the Web Dynpro apps Create Technical Object and Change Technical Object.
- View production resources/tools data for equipment using the Fiori app Find Technical Object and the Web Dynpro app Display Technical Object.
- The service API_EQUIPMENT enables you to create, read and update PRT data for a Equipment.
- Equipment Data Migration Cockpit (DMC) template is enhanced to support PRT data.

Harmonized Document Management (HDM) Attachment UI Adoption in Change Maintenance Notification app
Now you can use reusable Harmonized Document Management (HDM) attachment UI adoption in the Change Maintenance Notification web dynpro application. If you choose in the menu the Manage Attachments option as shown in the next video, a new window will open with the SAP Fiori HDM attachment UI. Here you can upload or assign documents or add links. If you upload for instance a picture, a new Document Info Record (DIR) is created and the uploaded picture is uploaded to the Maintenance Notification.
Resource Scheduling
Work Center Utilization Calculations shown in User Time Zone
Previously work center utilization was calculated based on the system time zone (UTC), which did not allow
users working in other time zones to see the data in a meaningful way, especially with maintenance operations that are planned in night shifts. The data is now displayed according to the user’s specific time zone. This applies to the following apps:
- Resource Scheduling for Maintenance Planners
- Manage Work Center Utilization
- Maintenance Scheduling Board
