Joule
Joule is the new AI copilot in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, revolutionizing the way users interact with the system. It acts as your companion in navigating the complex SAP Ecosystem, offering transparent, role-based access to relevant processes from any location. With Joule, you experience a unified and delightful user interface across SAP's solution portfolio.
Joule facilitates conversational interactions, enabling seamless communication between humans and computers. It supports three primary conversational patterns:
- Navigational: Assisting users in locating the functionality they need within SAP systems.
- Transactional: Helping users efficiently complete various tasks.
- Informational: Retrieving relevant information from existing documents.
Leveraging generative AI, Joule provides many benefits, including:
- Easy Navigation: Streamlined access to applications.
- Fast Insights: Quick retrieval of business object information, such as purchase orders.
- Seamless Access to Content: Summarized user enablement content for efficient task execution.
Moreover, Joule operates within various SAP BTP environments, including Cloud Foundry, Kyma, Kubernetes, or others. It is a multitenant application, ensuring data isolation and independent provisioning for different consumers.
Joule’s capabilities will be available in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition in Continuous Delivery this year, offering users a more intuitive and productive experience.
AI-Assisted Financial Business Insights in Finance (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition)
The "Virtual Analyst" within SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition transforms financial data analysis by providing immediate explanations and summarizations of insights in natural language. This AI feature allows users to quickly discover what’s meaningful within selected data in Review Booklets, analyzing extensive data sets, highlighting dependencies, and proposing actions. Benefits include:
- Immediate Insights: Quick explanations and summarizations of data insights in natural language.
- Comprehensive Analysis: Analyzes extensive data sets, highlights dependencies, and proposes actions.

This advanced feature supports resource managers by intelligently matching skilled employees to project needs. It considers similar skills to those requested and maintained in the candidate profiles, displaying both the requested skills and the skills present in the profiles of matching candidates.
- Skill Matching: AI identifies candidates with the required or similar skills for project needs, simplifying the search process.
- Efficient Search: Resource managers can quickly find suitable employees for projects, ensuring optimal skill allocation and improved project outcomes.

With AI-Assisted Smart Summarization, users can obtain concise summaries of object pages based on SAP Fiori elements apps. This feature streamlines decision-making by providing clear and actionable information. Capabilities include:

This feature enhances the filtering experience by generating results for inquiries in SAP Fiori elements-based list report applications using natural language. Users can verify and refine filter values through the classical filter experience or choose whatever filtering method suits their needs best. This feature enhances the filtering experience by:

Auto Enablement (Turnkey) of AI Use Cases
The Auto Enablement (Turnkey) feature simplifies the activation and management of AI use cases within SAP S/4HANA Cloud. It reduces or eliminates the manual effort required to initially activate and manage machine learning (ML) scenarios, ensuring that customers do not need extensive data science or process knowledge. This feature simplifies the activation and management of AI use cases by:
- Reducing Manual Effort: Automates the initial activation and lifecycle management of ML scenarios.
- No Expertise Required: Does not require data science or process knowledge from the customer.
- Enhanced Model Quality: Improves business value by increasing model quality.
Users can easily activate and monitor AI use cases through a simple "Turnkey" switch.
Gen AI Use Cases Support via ISLM
The ISLM component in SAP S/4HANA Cloud enables seamless integration between applications and large language models (LLMs). It supports out-of-the-box generative AI use cases, facilitating their exploration, deployment, and activation. The ISLM component in SAP S/4HANA Cloud enables:
- Seamless Integration: Acts as an AI integration component between applications and large language models (LLMs).
- Out-of-Box Use Cases: Facilitates exploration and management of generative AI-based use cases.
- Prompt Management: Provides basic prompt management for creating, generating, and extending prompt templates in business contexts.
