In this blog we will discuss about the features, need and key aspects of the consistency check report in SAP Central Finance.

What is Consistency Check Report?

Consistency Check report helps in identifying the configuration inconsistencies between the source system & the Central Finance system before initial load is planned to be started or before documents are replicated from source to Central Finance system. This ensures that postings are transferred without errors.

It issues success messages as well as failure. It is advised to ignore successes as it puts performance load on system to display all data. Idea is to get errors and warnings and resolve the same so it make sense to just focus on errors.

System, transaction, timings & run frequency:

  • System – SAP S/4HANA Central System

  • Transaction – FINS_CFIN_CC

  • Timings – Before initial load and after configurations, master data & mappings upload

  • Frequency of Run – Multiple time. Run it, fix errors, re run in and keep on doing until all errors are resolved.

Components/Inputs

  • Choose Action – Select Execute

  • Source Logical System – Select the source system from which you need to run the initial load

  • Check Group – Click on icon and window will come with objects (see screenshot). Select the objects for which you want to run the report. Please see next section for detail of each object

  • Selection Criteria – select Company code for which initial load is planned

  • Other Controls – ALWAYS check show errors and warnings only

Output format:

All errors highlighted should be resolved unless there is an exception based on business requirement or project design.

Select Group components:

  • Currency

    • GL Account – It checks whether the currency field is has same value for a mapped GL in both systems. Like source GL Account 11001 (currency USD) mapped to CFIN GL Account 11991 (currency EUR) will show error.

    • Company Code - Checks the consistency of local currency & additional currencies for the company code between the source ECC system & the S/4HANA Central Finance system

    • Decimal – It checks whether the currencies have same decimal settings in both source and Central Finance system

  • Document Splitting

    • Checks the consistency of document splitting activation between the source ECC system & the S/4HANA Central system

  • GL Account

    • This checks the consistency of open-item-management indicator for the G/L account between the source ECC system and the S/4HANA Central Finance system

  • Multi Mapping

    • SAP Central Finance supports N: 1 mapping for master data but not fully support for company codes. In summary N: 1 mapping of company codes is not allowed as it creates issue in cross company code posting. This check is to verify N: 1 mapping of company codes.

  • Loans Management

    • Central Payment does not supports Loans Management. This check ensures that in source system the Loans Management component FS-CML is not active.

  • SEPA

    • Checks the consistency of SEPA activation between the source ECC system & the S/4HANA Central system
