When we run Actual Costing in the system, sometimes we found "Not Distributed" item that in Material Price Analysis (CKM3). This is some example how we can analyze Not Distributed Price Differences with Value Flow Monitor (CKMVFM).

For some documentation about this issue please revers to:

1. SAP Note 908776 - Not included/not allocated and not distributed

2. SAP Note 744090 - Value Flow Monitor: Explanation and recommendations

This is some example about not distributed price differences case:

Open CKM3N and insert Material, Plant and Period/Year

Open CKMVFM in another session

Fill in:

1. Company Code

2. Material

3. Plant

4. Period

5. Year

6. Display Material, choose With Not Distributed/Included Differences

7. DB Extract>Read Extract choose Write Extract and specify the Name

Run the report.

After that choose the material and click on Not Distributed Icon to get the Detail View: Not Distributed Price Differences

This is the formula

Now we know where the Not Distributed Price Differences coming from.

There a few causes of this (as explained in the SAP Note) but the main one is to do with stock coverage.

This means that if the variance in a period is based on a larger quantity than the cumulative inventory quantity for that period, then SAP will only use the proportion of the variance that relates to the cumulative quantity to calculate the actual cost. The rest of the variance will be “Not distributed”.

For example, if you had a goods receipt of 200 units of a material and 100 units were consumed in the month; and in the next month the invoice receipt was posted for the 200 units but there was a price difference from the invoice of 100 dollars. In material ledger, only 50 dollars (cumulative quantity [100] divided by invoice quantity [200] multiplied by price difference [100]) of the variance will be used in the actual cost calculation for that material. The remaining 50 dollars which is “not distributed” will remain in the price difference account.

Then, after revaluation of Consumption, it will be allocated to the consume quantity. i-e: 100 qty in our case.

Hi, Muhammad Muzammil Khan

"Then, after revaluation of Consumption, it will be allocated to the consume quantity. i-e: 100 qty in our case."

You mean the "revaluation of Consumption" in this month or in the next month?

"it will be allocated to the consume quantity"

this consumed quantity post in this month or in the next month?

Thanks a tun.

would there be a reason why the sub. Adj. Price Difference is 0 (zero) but the not distributed amount on CKMVFM is showing a number? I am trying to figure out what is the system calculating in this instance.

Thank you in advance.
