For years, SAP Consulting delivery has been seen as a technical and structured exercise: timelines, modules, go-lives, KPIs. But that view is no longer enough. The projects that fail today do not fail because of technical errors, they fail due to a lack of connection, empathy, and emotional leadership.
Success in consulting delivery is no longer just about what is delivered, but how people experience it, those who execute it and those who receive it.
In the context of S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition implementations, where speed, standardization, fit-to-standard and early adoption are essential, the human component becomes even more critical. The agility that this model demands cannot be achieved by technology alone, it requires teams and leaders who can manage uncertainty, enable rapid change, and support users through their adaptation journey to cloud technology.
Cloud-based projects require clear communication, empathetic leadership, and strong emotional management to ensure that transformation is not only implemented but successfully adopted and embraced. In this environment, emotional intelligence and executive coaching are not “nice to haves”—they are core skills to maximize delivery value.
In my role as a Senior SAP ERP Cloud Consultant, specialized in Finance (Management Accounting, Asset Accounting, Budget Control, and Financial Projects), I have led complex projects across Latin America.
I am also an Executive Coach in Emotional Intelligence and Neuro Linguistic Programming and I’ve seen first-hand that when we apply human tools to delivery:
•  Teams perform better, with less burnout.
•  Clients feel understood, not managed.
•  Trust becomes a competitive advantage.

The SAP Consulting delivery of the future will be:
•  Technical + Human
•  Structurally rigorous + Emotionally intelligent
•  Process-based + People-powered

If we want more agile organizations, more strategic consultants, and more engaged clients, we need leaders who listen, support, connect, and communicate with humanity.
Because the system we implement matters.
But the system we are as people, is what truly transforms.

So true, working for more than 30 years now in IT and most of it on SAP, this is what I often share with my teams and colleagues.  In the Artificial Intelligence area, what makes us different as humans (for now) is our capacity to bring Emotional Intelligence. Building at least trust and confidence with our colleagues and customers is also at the heart of why we are doing this job. As it is overdemanding with the so fast evolving technical side this is balanced by pleasure and emotions of working with peoples.
