Template Details

Template 1: Rebuild Credit Exposure

Function

This template rebuilds credit exposure based on the latest data in the database. It corrects the discrepancies in credit exposure values. You can perform rebuilds for selected credit segments, such as by region or customer group. You can also use filter parameters to specify which subsets of data to process.

Use Case

Use this template when credit exposure values in the system are inconsistent or incorrect, such as after a system upgrade, data migration, or when no recent configuration changes have been made but data accuracy is in question.

Template 2: Reorganize Credit Segment Assignment in Journal Entries

Function

This template updates credit data (for example, credit exposure) in journal entries to ensure that the credit status in financial transactions is up to date. With real-time data feed, this template automatically detects and responds to events such as partial payments, invoice cancellations, and changes in payment terms, updating credit exposure immediately without manual intervention.

Use Case

Apply this template when financial documents show incorrect credit data (for example, credit exposure) after changes to credit segments, sales organizational structures, credit segment currencies, or update groups.

Template 3: Reorganize Credit Segment Assignment in SD Documents

Function

This template updates credit data (for example, credit exposure) in SD documents, including sales documents, deliveries, and billing documents.

Use Case

Apply this template when SD documents show incorrect credit data following changes to sales organizations, credit segment assignments, or credit segment currencies. It is particularly useful in complex business scenarios, for example, in the automotive or retail industries where adjustments in sales orders and billing documents are common.

Template 4: Check Credit on SD Documents

Function

This template performs a daily recheck of SD documents to ensure they comply with the latest credit-

rules and reflect the latest payment status and credit limit.

Configurable Prioritization

You can configure priority thresholds (e.g., rechecking orders with a value of ≥ $10,000 first) to ensure that high-value orders are validated promptly, reducing the risk of overexposure to credit risks.

Use Case

Use this template to maintain daily compliance with credit policies, especially in the following scenarios:

  • Customer payment behaviors or credit rules change frequently, requiring frequent revalidation of sales orders
  • Real-time risk assessment is critical, such as e-commerce and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).

How to Access and Use These Templates

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Login: Log into the SAP system using a user account with the “CREDIT_CONTROLLER” role or equivalent permissions.
  2. Select Application:
    • To schedule routine credit rechecks, open the Schedule Credit Management Jobs (F3748) app.

    • To perform data rebuilds or updates, open the Rebuild Credit Management Data app (F4234).
    • Katy_Su_1-1750412470179.png

  3. Configure Template:
    • In the selected app, choose an appropriate template from the list.
    • Apply filter parameters to target specific data, such as credit segment, document date range, or customer group.
  4. Schedule Job:
    • Set the job to run during non-peak hours (e.g., 2:00 AM local time) to minimize impact on daily business operations.
  5. Post-Execution Verification:
    • After the job completes, verify credit exposure data in categories 100 to 500. Ensure that each credit segment correctly reflects the latest data for relevant customers and documents.

Best Practices (Example of Handling Configuration Changes)

After credit segment assignments are changed, for example, through configuration activity Assign Company Codes to Credit Segments or Assign Sales Area to Credit Segment, the system does not update the credit exposure in existing open documents. To ensure accuracy:

  1. Identify Changes:  Determine which credit segments have been modified and which modules (FIN or SD) are affected.
  2. Execute Templates Sequentially :
    • Step 1 : Run the Reorganize Credit Segment Assignment in Journal Entries job to update credit data in journal entries.
    • Step 2 : Run the Reorganize Credit Segment Assignment in SD Documents job to refresh credit data in SD documents.
    • Step 3 (Optional): If discrepancies persist, run the Rebuild Credit Exposure job to perform a global data consistency check.
  3. Validate Results

Constraints About the "Reorganize Credit Segment Assignment in SD Documents" template

  • Document Status: This template only updates SD documents that are still open or contain open documents in their document flow. If a document and all its subsequent documents are completed (overall processing status "C"), its credit data is not automatically updated and must be handled manually.
  • Credit Segment: The template cannot delete credit segments (for example, by clearing credit segment assignment) from documents that have been created with value.
