Customer adoption of SAP Screen Personas and Adapt UI for classic apps within SAP S/4HANA Cloud continues to grow. The most popular scenarios in which people simplify the classic screens in public cloud environments are sales orders and purchase orders. In this post, I’ll discuss when to use SAP Screen Personas and SAP Fiori apps, the SAP Screen Personas roadmap, and some specific next steps for customers and partners to optimize your UX transformation journey.
In a recent call with a partner supporting a large retailer, they asked if their customer should use SAP Screen Personas to simplify the classic sales order apps or to use the latest SAP Fiori app for Manage Sales Orders. Generally, if there is an SAP Fiori app that SAP ships, we recommend you evaluate it. SAP Fiori apps based on SAP Fiori elements receive ongoing innovations, including embedded AI capabilities that continue to evolve.
Most organizations will use a combination of SAP-delivered Fiori apps, adapted SAP Fiori apps, SAP Screen Personas flavors for classic applications, and SAP Fiori elements apps that they build themselves to provide a complete and consistent UX to their users. So, you should probably use a combination of both SAP Screen Personas AND SAP Fiori.
SAP Screen Personas is one of several steps that SAP has taken over the past decade to make its ERP screen easier to use:
Within SAP Screen Personas, we are continuing to innovate to make it easier for you to streamline business processes that still rely on classic apps. In addition to all the basic screen editing functions that have been available for over a decade, we are making scripting more powerful and providing more capabilities to manage the tables that are so common in classic apps. With all the innovations in the SAP Fiori design system, we have also added more granular controls so you can give the classic screens the SAP Fiori user experience to improve usability and ensure consistency across the entire SAP portfolio.
SAP Screen Personas flavors can launch from My Home, alongside SAP Fiori apps, again providing a consistent way to access core ERP functionality. In short, the SAP Screen Personas roadmap focuses on continuing to innovate with new features and integrate into the rest of the portfolio so you can enjoy better usability and more UX consistency in your SAP ERP systems.
VA01, VA02, VA03, ME21N, ME22N, ME23N remain among the most common transactions
Since we added it to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition as a standard feature, that should be solid evidence that the ability to adapt the UI of classic apps is something important to us. We are supporting SAP Screen Personas functionality through at least 2040.
SAP Screen Persons flavors are part of a clean core strategy, as they do not touch the core transactions / classic apps.
