Hi all,
Have you ever wondered how to create multiple entries in a target parameter of the target API using just one source table entry? Have you ever had the requirement to migrate one material to multiple plants although the material is only available in one plant in your source SAP system?
With SAP S/4HANA 2025, a new feature is available for the S/4HANA Migration Cockpit called "Split Logic", which can be accessed using the Migration Object Modeler (transaction LTMOM). Note that this feature is only available for the migration approach "Migrate Data Directly from SAP System".
Usually, one entry is created in the target parameter for each assigned source table entry. Using the "Split Logic" feature, you can define a split for the source table to create multiple entries in the target parameter for each source table entry.
There are two types of split logic - simple split logic and advanced split logic. You can use simple split logic to create a fixed number of entries in the target parameter for each source table entry. Using the advanced split logic, you have a flexible way of defining the number of splits using rules.
You have then the possibility to define different field mapping information for each of the so-called "splits".
Some use cases for split logic include:
We highly recommend reading our recently published SAP Note 3595079 for more information about this topic.
Let us know how you might use the split logic and feel free to comment below!
All the best for your project!
