SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit - How-to Transport - if Development and Test client are on the same system

Hello SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit users,

this blog is relevant for users working with the "Migrate your Data" App, the approach "Migrate Data Using Staging Tables" and the migration object modeler in SAP S/4HANA 2021 onwards.

In some customer cases, development and test clients are on the same system. With the introduced transport concept you are not able to transport from one client to the other.

So the procedure looks as follows:

1. Set up project in DEV client.
2. In LTMOM, use function "Use project in different client" to move the project from your DEV client to Test client.
3. In case you need to adjust your project, again use function "Use project in different client" to move it back to DEV. Do the changes, move again to Test.
4. Transport project to your PRD system.

Note that all mapping tasks are deleted. If you want to use the same mapping values, download them in advance. You can use the download mapping functionality in the SAP Fiori app "Migrate Your Data – Migration Cockpit".
