November blog post

In this blog we will cover a few topics, you will find some good tips and material regarding the year end tasks,
a few words about the latest Guided Answers released and of course an update on the latest about the
interactive sessions SAP Business One Support are delivering → recording links, upcoming sessions etc.

First out, year-end. A good way to ensure that all runs smooth at year end and the beginning of the year is
to create Document Numbering Series and Posting Periods well in advance. By giving yourself time you are less likely to do mistakes and will likely have access to relevant people in your organization that needs to be consulted when these two tasks are done. There might also be legacy issues where you will need to contact SAP Business One Support at short notice. Our firm recommendation is to not wait until the last minute.

Both these tasks can be done years in advance, there is absolutely no need to wait until New Year's Eve.

Here is some good material to consider when executing these tasks.

Posting Periods:

3349699 - New Posting Period Cannot Be Created or Existing Posting Period Cannot Be Changed or Remov...

Document Numbering:

KBA 3396142 - Options and rules of Document Numbering function

KBA 3396132 - Default numbering series on journal entry

Interactive Sessions

If you have been reading these blogs you are now well aware of this initiative from Support. Our experts
deliver live interactive sessions for partners where they go through topics that we see with some frequency
in support. Topics where we believe we can make a real difference by sharing our insights. These sessions are for partners and for free.

So far, we have delivered three sessions and there is more on the horizon. Next up on Nov 26 - How to configure and optimize SAP Business One Service Layer for better performance. The session will be delivered by Product Area Lead Balaji Sivaramakrishnan and Senior Engineer Ankit Chauhan. If you are active in the SAP Business One Community you will know Ankit, he is a big contributor there.

Partners can register free of charge here.

In previous blogs we have provided links to the recordings of the previous sessions, we have just released a KBA that will manage all that centrally. Find all the recorded session links here → 3525031 - Central KBA for Partner Enablement Sessions delivered by SAP Business One Support

What more?

Short reminder about our Guided Answers. SAP Business One Support has of today released 31 different GAs. You will find all of them linked to the central KBA - 3213852 - Central KBA for SAP Business One Guided Answers
