As part of our ongoing enhancements to SAP Activate Methodology content, we are excited to announce the release of two new road maps: SAP Business Network for Supplier Portal Private Edition and SAP Business Network for Commerce Automation. Both road maps are now available in SAP Road Map Viewer and SAP Cloud ALM.
SAP Business Network for Supplier Portal Private Edition is a cloud-based solution designed to support seamless collaboration between buyers and suppliers through a unified portal. It enables smooth data exchange with SAP S/4HANA, automates key procurement workflows, and helps drive efficiency by minimizing manual effort. The solution also enhances collaboration across the network, accelerating digital transformation and delivering better business outcomes.
This solution is now included as an entitlement for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition customers who have selected the Premium or Premium Plus service packages. These customers receive access to the core capabilities of Supplier Portal Private Edition at no additional licensing cost. Please note that project implementation, custom extensions, and optional supplier enablement services may involve additional fees.
The implementation road map follows the 5 phases of SAP Activate (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run) and focuses on two key workstreams: Supplier enablement and Data configuration and integration.
Each phase covers key activities such as:
SAP Business Network for Commerce Automation is a cloud-based solution designed to automate procurement and invoicing processes between buyers and suppliers. It enables the efficient electronic exchange of transactional documents such as purchase orders, order confirmations, advanced ship notices, service entry sheets, and invoices, reducing manual effort and improving process efficiency.
By providing real-time visibility into transaction status and history, Commerce Automation enhances collaboration between trading partners and helps enforce procurement policies and regulatory compliance.
While Commerce Automation itself focuses on transactional automation, the data it manages can be leveraged for spend analysis and supplier performance monitoring when combined with complementary analytics solutions, such as SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Ariba Supplier Management. These tools provide deeper insights into spend patterns, supplier performance scorecards, risk profiles, and sustainability metrics.
The Commerce Automation road map is structured into the 5 phases of SAP Activate (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run) and supports rapid, scalable deployment with AI-driven insights and faster time-to-value. The key activities across these phases include:
