Hello SAP users! Let's talk about some updates to the Material Documents Overview app (F1077) and new features designed to close the gaps between the older WebGUI application MB51 and the newer app. We want to thank everyone who shared their experience with the app—it really helps us make things better for you. The following updates are only relevant for the S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Closing Functional Gaps and Enhancing User Experience

SAP is not only working on closing the gaps between MB51 and the Material Documents Overview app but is also enhancing the user experience. The new app is designed to offer a smoother, more intuitive experience that makes it worthwhile to switch. Keep in mind that transitioning to this new app is essential, as the old app will eventually be deprecated.

FAQs Based on Your Feedback

We've gathered some frequently asked questions from customer feedback and are happy to answer them here:

Q: How can I add and arrange more columns and filter options?

A: Click the “Settings” icon at the top of the list report table. Under “Columns,” enter your search term, like “special stock type.” Check the boxes for the columns you want to add, then click “OK.” You can drag and drop to arrange columns as you like.

Q: How can I sort the list report?

A: Click the “Settings” icon at the top of the list report table. Then click “Sort” and pick how you want to sort the data, like by Plant, Storage Location, Material, or Batch. You can save your changes as a variant under "My views," and share it with others if you want.

Q: How can I see values such as Value in local Currency or the Signed quantity?

A: You either select the variant Material Document List with Values or click on setting and add the filter Value in local Currency and or Signed Quantity.

Q: How can I find or create a variant?

A: Select the dropdown menu for “Select View” in the top left corner next to the Standard view – choose a predelivered variant to see a different set of fields e. g. “Material Document List with Values”.

To create your own variant, add the filters that you want to the list view by clicking on the settings icon for the table. Select your filters and choose OK. If you want, you can also change the sequence of the columns by dragging and dropping them into place. When you have the columns arranged how you wish, click on the dropdown menu arrow for 'Select View' next to Standard and select Save As. Give your variant view a name and choose Save.

Q: Where can I find the Document Header Text or Reference field?

The Document Header Text field can be selected via the settings. This field is also called Additional Note. The Reference field is called Delivery Note in the new app, and you can also find it via the settings. Both fields are available on the material document's detail page under the "General Information" section.

Q: Where can I see the complete set of information for a stock transfer including the issuing and receiving party?

A: In your filter bar, select filter "Include Auto-Created Item (Transfer)" and set it to "yes". You will then see two line entries. Alternatively, you can display all transfer related attributes in one line by selecting the according fields labelled with “transfer” in the settings menu.

Q: How can I separate material code and description in Excel downloads?

A: Use the “Export” icon and choose “Export as.” Then select your format and destination. Make sure to check the “Split cells with multiple values” box before you click “Export.” Your Excel file will then have separate columns for material descriptions and codes.

Wrap-Up

We’re focused on not only making the Material Documents Overview app better by addressing functional gaps but also improving the overall user experience. Your input is really important in helping us improve, and making the switch to the new app will ensure you're ready for when the old app is phased out.
