SAP PLM Product Data Integration (PDI), serves as a bridge that connects your CAD tools with SAP business processes. This integration is crucial in ensuring seamless data flow and enhancing the efficiency of your operations. A plugin extends the CAD to store files in PDI and derives an Enterprise Product Structure in SAP Product Lifecycle Management. Moreover, the product data can be transferred via Product Handover to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Watch the video below, in which my colleague Markus Oertelt shows the process in the system,

The Process Production Versions app enables production engineers now to perform mass edits for existing production versions. The new mass edit feature significantly reduces the time required for such tasks. You can make mass changes to the values in the editable fields of a production version, with the capacity to select up to 100 production versions for simultaneous updates. If the number of production versions selected exceeds 100, the count is displayed in red, next the Mass Edit button. This limitation is important for a good performance in foreground processing. It is planned to offer also background processing without limitation of selected production versions in a future release. And of course, the mass change capability includes validations while editing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
In the video below I show you the new mass edit feature.

With 2408, key user extensibility is supported for the ODATA API Production Routing (Version 2) [Technical name: API_PRODUCTION_ROUTING]. Users can Read, Create and Update custom fields. Header, Operation, and Sub-operation entities are supported with this functionality.

With the past release, we enabled production planners to reschedule operations on the Manage Operation page of the Capacity Scheduling Board app by dragging and dropping the operation on the chart within the same work center (see my 2402 blog post).
Now, planners can reschedule an operation by simply dragging and dropping the operation across different production versions on the highlighted rows. - a feature designed to improve user experience and speed up the planning process. Read SAP Help chapter Reschedule Operations through Drag and Drop for a detailed description of the rescheduling capabilities in the Capacity Scheduling Board app.
Watch the video below in which Markus Oertelt shows you the new Drag & Drop capabilities.

We've added additional columns in the Monitor Material Coverage apps, providing information on the number of rescheduling proposals for a material. This enables production planners to easily evaluate the planning situation and react swiftly to changes.
Markus Oertelt shows you the enhancements of the Monitor Material Coverage - Net Segments and Monitor Material Coverage - Net and Individual Segments apps in the next video.

In the Manage Production Orders app, the Change Dates and Quantities popup has been enhanced with time
fields. They enable you to change planned start or planned end times for the scheduling types that offer the
planning of times, such as Forwards in Time and Backwards in Time.
Watch the video below in which I show you the new feature.

With the 2408 release, Advanced Variant Configuration (aVC) is integrated in quality inspections with inspection lots.
The characteristics specified in the configuration of a sales order or purchase order are transferred to the
inspection characteristics of an inspection lot.
Watch the video below in which Markus Oertelt shows the process in the system.

If you’re asking yourself what an FMEA is, please check out the blog post
from Sonja Cornelißen.
For a short recap about the FMEA capabilities in Quality Management check out my blog posts FMEA launch with 2202 , FMEA enhancements with 2208 , FMEA enhancements with 2302, FMEA enhancements with 2308, and the FMEA expert talk.
With 2408, Quality Planners can download FMEAs as PDF files in the Manage FMEAs app. PDF files offer you the options of printing them, sending them as attachments, or storing them for documentation purposes. Each download is a snapshot of the current state of your FMEA, so with regular downloads, you can keep track of different versions of your FMEA.
The system uses a PDF-based form as the template for the PDF file. A predefined form is provided but you can also configure your own custom form for each FMEA type. In your configuration environment, a new optional configuration object is available: Assign PDF-Based Forms to FMEA Types. There you can specify the forms that are to be used for each FMEA type.

Quality Engineers can use now SAP S/4HANA Output Control as the output management framework for defects. With this feature allows printing for all defect categories in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

As a Configuration Expert - Business Process Configuration you can now configure a workflow for the processing of quality notification tasks. You configure the workflow with the Manage Workflows for Task Processing in QM app.

After configuration is done quality engineers will be notified about quality notification tasks in their 'My Inbox'.
