In this blog, we'll walk you through the setup process, demonstrating how production operators and supervisors can easily access engineering drawings and material designs linked to the production order. This seamless integration is crucial for maintaining accuracy and efficiency on the shop floor.

Introduction:

This blog outlines the process for integrating a DMS document linked to the material master with the production order in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. It also explains how production operators or supervisors can view the automatically linked DMS document for engineering drawings or material design within the production order. This integration helps shop floor operators keep track of each document in the production order, ensuring the correct production process is followed in shop floor control.

Set Up for Integrating DMS Documents with Production Order:

  • Define Production Scheduling Profile – Tick Mark the ‘Document Links – Material’ Checkbox.

  • Assign the Production Scheduling Profile in Material Master using MM02 (Change Material Master) app.

  • Upload Engineering/Design Document (Document name can be in preferred language) with type SPP (Simplified PP) in the Material Master using Fiori app ‘Manage Product Master Data’. Upon Saving, it generates a DMS Document Number of type SPP (Simplified PP). Click on that link to view the DMS Document generated.

  • Goto CV02n (Change Document), Input the DMS Document Number (Document type SPP) noted in previous step and add the Description in the preferred language.

  • View the Original Document attached under the Originals Tab

  • View the Material number linked under the Object Links tab.

DMS Integration with Production Order:

  • Create Production Order

  • Click on ‘Documents’ Button to view the DMS Document linked.

  • At the time of order creation, DMS Document link attached automatically as per the setup made in Production scheduling profile.

  • In the Main Header Screen, Click on Tree View Button.

  • Right click on the Document Id > Click on Documents > Click on Document Name.

  • Original document that is uploaded in material master displayed in a new tab in the browser.

  • Production Order Saved.

  • Uploaded document can also be viewed in CO02 (Change Production Order) and CO03 (Display Production Order) screen in the same way by clicking Tree View.
  • Production Order number will be assigned under Object Links tab in the DMS Document (CV03n – Display Document).
