Cost Center in Asset History Sheet

Issue / Observation:

When adding "Cost Center" or “WBS Element” to the rows of the Asset History Sheet or the Asset Balances, it is always displayed empty. Profit Center, Segment and other fields are filled correctly.

Background:

The fields “Cost Center” and “WBS Element” are recorded in the P&L on Expense Accounts, but not on Balance Sheet accounts such as Acquisition and Production Costs or Accumulated Depreciation. Key figures shown in the columns of the Asset History Sheet and the Asset Balances are reflecting Balance Sheet values and are selected from Balance Sheet accounts.

Solution:

In order to report key figures of the Asset History Sheet or the Asset Balances app by Cost Center, please use the characteristic “Asset Cost Center” instead. That is how you can use time dependent attributes of the Asset Master as drill down characteristics in Asset Accounting reports.
