Migrating customers using the Fiori App: Migrate Your Data in SAP S/4HANA involves several steps to ensure a smooth and accurate data transfer. Below is a structured approach:

Steps to Migrate Customers Using Fiori App: Migrate Your Data

  1. Access the Fiori App

  • Log into the SAP Fiori Launchpad.
  • Search for and open the "Migrate Your Data" app.

  1. Create a New Migration Project

  • Click on "Create" to start a new migration project.
  • Choose the appropriate migration approach (File/Staging Table).

  • Enter a Project Name and select Local SAP S/4 HANA Database Schema and click on Step 2.

  • Select Development Package and click on Step 3.

  • Select the Customer Migration object.

  • Select the Customer Migration object “Customer” and click on Review button.

The selected objects will appear on the right side in the Selected Migration Object section. I just selected one object, but you can select as many objects as you need.

After completing the selection, go to Review

  • On Clicking on Review button, the below window popups, you can deselect the predecessor objects and click on Add.

  • On Create New Project click on Create Project.

  •  After creating the project, you will be directed to the main page of the Migrate Your Data app and you will be able to see the project you have created, in this case, the name I assigned is Sphoorthi BP Migration.

  • Click on the Project name created. Once you open the project, the object's info will be displayed.

3. Download the Migration Template

  • Click on Download Template to get an xml file with predefined fields.

  • Once you downloaded the XML file, open it with Ms Excel and fill all the fields with the data you want to migrate. Fill in the necessary customer details such as the below in the xml file and save.
    • Customer Number, Name, Address
    • Sales Area Data (Sales Org, Distribution Channel, Division)
    • Company Code Data (Reconciliation Account, Payment Terms)

For the first test, it’s highly recommended that you fill just one line so that it will be easier to identify and solve errors.

      4. Upload the Prepared Data File

  • Return to the migration project and upload the filled-out template.
  • Validate the data structure to ensure correctness.

Go back to Migration Project screen and click on Monitoring.

Select the Prepare button to start the process:

The status will be updated automatically, left-click on the option Mapping Tasks:

After clicking Prepare Staging tables, go back to Migration Project screen and click on Monitoring.

5.Data Mapping and Validation

  • The system will automatically map most fields. If required, manually adjust mappings.

In this step, you will be required to confirm the values of the fields you inserted in the XML file.

  • You can select all the tasks on the left side and click on the Confirm to complete them at one time.

  • Another option is to click on each one and confirm the values.

  • Confirm All the values.

  • Resolve any errors before proceeding.

6.Simulate the Migration

  • Run a test migration using Simulation Mode to identify potential issues.

  • The Simulation step will be ready, click to start:

7. Execute the Migration

  • Once validation is successful, click Migrate Data to transfer customer records into SAP S/4HANA.
  • Monitor the migration status and logs for any errors or warnings.

  • Successfully Migrated.

8. Verify Data in the System

  • Use transactions BP (Business Partner) or XD03/VD03 (Customer Display) to check migrated customers or tables KNA1VV etc.
  • Ensure data consistency across Company Code, Sales Area, and General Data views.

9. Final Confirmation

  • Once verified, mark the migration as Completed in the Fiori App.
  • Communicate successful migration to relevant stakeholders.
