Introduction:

Let us see the simple configuration required for doing Inbound delivery in Embedded EWM. Prerequisites are maintained in the Blog

Process Flow:

Below is the process flow - We create the Purchase order and Inbound delivery in ERP system. Against which an Inbound delivery will be created in the EWM system automatically. Then we need to create a warehouse task and move the material from door (ground) and put it in the respective bin (Rack).

Main Part.

Overview:

  1. Organization Structure
  2. Configurations
  3. Master data
  4. Transactional data - Process flow

Organization structure:

RaghavanKathamuthu_2-1721230611696.png

I have created one plant 0075, WH 075 in ERP and Location 0075, WH 0075 (1 extra zero) in EWM.

In Which I have two storage locations AFS and ROD. These two storage locations are connected to the warehouse and this will create the Inbound delivery in EWM when you create IBD in ERP. This storage location needs to be maintained in the Purchase order

Also, I have Six storage types that come under warehouse and it comes under EWM in the system.

ROD - Received on DOC. This storage location contains the raw materials from the purchase. After receiving the material from the supplier we will place the materials in ROD.

AFS - Available for sale. Usually, these storage locations contain the finished materials from the production planning which are ready for sale.

Storage Types and Bins.

DOOR - This storage type I have created for Door. Bins are DRGR, DRGI and created via /n/SCWM/LS01.

SAIB - This storage type I have created for GR - Inbound deliveries. Bin is SAIB (Not used here)

SAOB - This storage type I have created for GI - Outbound SAOB. Bins is SAOB (Not used here)

ROD1 - This storage type I have created for rack system and its like ROD storage location where the raw materials are kept. Bins are from ROD1-01-01-01 to ROD1-01-04-03 and created via /n/SCWM/LS10.

AFS1 - This storage type I have created for rack system and its like AFS storage location where the finished materials are kept. Bin is AFS1-01-01-01 (Not used here)

Process

In our process, I am not using any special storage process. I am going to receive the material in storage type DOOR / bin DRGR and going to put it in WH storage type ROD1 / bin ROD1-01-01-01 by selecting the bin manually in EWM inbound order.

Configuration:

Created a warehouse process type.

All warehouse process types are further grouped into warehouse process categories. Warehouse in to warehouse process categories. Warehouse process categories are used to define the goods movement in a warehouse.

There are different warehouse process categories that are predefined in the EWM system.
  • Stock removal

  • Put-away
  • Internal Movement
  • Goods receipt posting
  • Goods issue postings

This will decide the process step - Either this flow is IB or OB or IM related. For more check link

Copied one standard EWM warehouse process type 'PTWY' for new WH 0075 as below

RaghavanKathamuthu_5-1721235302777.png

Here the source storage type I used is DOOR and bin as DRGR. So that when ever the IB created in EWM the material will be first received in bin DRGR. Also the WH process category I used is 1 - Putaway.

Configure - Determine Warehouse Process Type:

Assigned the newly created Warehouse process type 'PTWY' to Inbound documents in WH 0075. Now this WPT will be used all the time for INB documents.

Master data:

Material Master:

Created a material master 'EWMA01' in MM01 with purchasing view and in ERP WH 07

Created the same material in EWM system via /n/SCWM/MAT1. You can use the existing PED.

Saved it at the end.

Transaction data or Running the process:

Created Purchase order - ME21N

Note: Here you need to maintain the confirmation indicator (to create IB in VL31N) and EWM storage location (to generate the IB in EWM). PO - 4500000204

Created Inbound document in ERP - VL31N

Enterd the PO in VL31N

RaghavanKathamuthu_13-1721236978791.png

Saved the IBD in next screen

RaghavanKathamuthu_14-1721237009684.png

If all the configuration are in place then below success message will be displayed
