Dear Readers,

This Blog will cover End-End cycle including Important Configurations and Demo for PS Easy Cost Planning ( ECP ) Integration with S/4HANA Financial Planning

  • As of Version 2022 FPS 00, SAP has provided out-of-box Integration of Project based cost planning integration with Financial Planning for Easy Cost Planning and Network Costing

  • Before above mentioned version, we need to use Program (R_FINS_PLAN_TRANS_CO_ERP_2_S4H) to Transfer the value from Classical CO Table to ACDOCP Table

  • With this new version, this manual step is reduced for Easy Cost Planning and Network Costing and now Data will be stored in ACDOCP Table along with Classical CO Table

  • With This new feature, couple of Standard Fiori Apps of PS (Project Cost Report - Line Items, Project Cost Report - Overview) can be directly used as far as plan data is concerned.

  • This New Feature is part of The Modernized Easy Cost Planning for projects and shall be available as part of S/4HANA perpetual scope

  • In this Blog I will be explaining the Easy Cost Planning Integration with Financial Integration

  • I assume Readers are aware of Function/Feature of Easy Cost Planning Method and S/4HANA Financial Planning , hence I will be focusing on subject itself.

Prerequisites :

  1. Necessary Configuration for Easy Cost Planning

  2. Maintain Category for Planning

  3. Assign Plan Category to CO Version for Easy Cost Planning for Project

Below are couple of important configuration screenshot.

  • Maintain Category for Planning

    • System Uses planning category to differentiate sets of plan data

    • Usage 1 is defined for Easy cost planning for Project

  • Assign Plan Category to CO Version for Easy Cost Planning for Project

    • To Write Plan Data from ECP to Financial Integration ( CO Table to ACDOCP Table ) this is the new customization introduced

    • This customization is based on CO Area and ECP CO Version

    • Please, note that Once plan category is in use , you can not edit or delete it

Demo :

  • Perform Easy Cost Planning for Project

  • Check Values in CO Table

  • Check Values in ACDOCP Table

Summary

By using New Standard Configuration of S/4HANA 2022 FPS 00, we are able to Transfer Plan Cost from ECP to ACDOCP Financial Table along with Classical CO Table.

Please, let me know if anyone have doubt or I missed something.

Your suggestions are most welcome.

Cheers for EPPM Community…!!!

Hi Akash,

This article is very helpful. However, we have activated UPA in our system.

As per this blogpost - https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-blogs-by-sap/financial-planning-with-unive... it's mentioned that costing model (CKCM) does not work with UPA.

Can you please also confirm if this functionality will also work with UPA and can we still use ECP without the costing model (CKCM)

Hi @Abhinav_84 ,
you are right. Easy Cost Planning is as of now not supported when using UPA, see also https://me.sap.com/notes/3191636

@Marie_Vienney : you are referring to CJ9* transactions? No, they are sitting on the classic data model. In SAC content for Integrated Financial Planning https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/48f4b4785b8e45938ac44a67be8032d9/03291db95a6b4608b91... there is the option to copy the actuals to plan for projects leveraging ACDOCP. If you are not using SAC, then the Excel interface could be an option.

Hi Andrea,

What if the CJ46 and CJ47 is used to calc Overheads. Is there any equivalent of OH Calculation in S42023 on Projects similar to CJ46/CJ47. If not what is the process to do OH Planning on Projects where we are using Plan Categories only.

Thanks
