Mass Changes to Material Master

Dear SAP Friends,

In this blog will share you some important tips and tricks in Material Mass Changes (MM17)

In our day to day SAP Support activities, we get requirement of changing the description, extending to sales org and many more.

So I wanted to share some tips, to all of you which we can address by using MM17 instead of LSMW or other program developing.

Material Description Mass Change

1. Go to MM17 select option “Material description” and execute F8


2. Give the list of material codes which you want to change description and language as per system. And execute F8


3. Here comes trick

• Click on select Fields option


• Then from Pool select material description and move to selection criteria


• Click ok / continue

4. Once done as said above you can see a screen like below screen

Just copy-paste from Excel to SAP and click save

5. Material description will be changed

No need to do LMSW or any other time-wasting things its simple, best and easy.

Sales Organization Extend

For Sales, org extend from 1000 to 2000 like that we can follow below steps

1. Select Seles data for material and execute F8


2. Give the required list of materials codes which need to be extended in to be created tab. And execute F8


3. Once executed we can see material with sales org and distribution channel, click save


4. Material has extended to respective Sales org and distribution channel

Please Note MM17 is a sensitive Transaction while doing be careful.

Also use the Import Data from File option to save time on multiple changes. Really helps for all MASS transactions.

Hi

This is very good. Can you please let me know if its possible to mass change only for one plant/organization? I have to change mfpn-manufacturer part number, table MFRPN and when I use table BEGRU changes are also made in other plants as we have few part numbers the same... How I can overtake that?

I have a doubt. Can we use ltmc/ltmom for mass material update?

NO only new creation and extending to new org only LTMC is available
for mass change MM17 or BADI old ways only we can use

Do you know an app where it is possible to make mass changes on supplier data (e.g. mrp-relevant, fix, blocked, etc.) I tried it with "mass changes to PUR", but mentioned examples are not possible to change.
