Expand the Time/Payroll Schema using a program RPDASC00

Payroll and Time schemas contain many sub schemas and rules.It is very difficult to find rules using the schema editor PE01.SAP has provided a program to expand the schemas and the ability to save in RTF format.The steps to expand the schema are as shown below.

1.Use the transaction code SA38/SE38 ,enter the program name RPDASC00 and execute it (F8)

2.Enter the name of the schema,check the boxes "Expand calculation rules" and "Expand subordinate PC rules" and enter * as shown below.Enter "T" in the program class for the Time Management schema and "C" for the payroll schema and execute it (or use F8)

3.When the schema is expanded,it can be saved to a local file and RTF format would be the best format .For that select on the List-->Save --> File  as shown below.

4.Select the " Rich text format " radio button as shown below and save the file.

Just wanted to add a small point to it. Make it as a practice to take a backup of Schema every month or 2 month. it helps you a lot to compare the current version with the older version if any thing goes wrong so that you can retain older version of PCR and Schema.

As Venkat is aware of the changes in the schema, what is the necessity to take the backup instantly.

Hi Jayasree,

I suggested to take on regular basis like at a frequeny of a month or 2 month. need not to take the backup instantly. This will help you to restore the old configuration if anything goes wrong.

This is more helpful if two or more than two consultants are working on same project. if somebody touched or changes anything in your PCR then you can identify the changes easily.

Thanks Praveen.Thats a good suggestion.Whenever I would change a rule or schema in development I would always compare the schema and Rule table in the Dev systems with those of Production using the transaction code SCMP.This is very important although you have saved the backups because I have seen the inconsistencies of the schemas over different clients ( DEV,Quality and Production) if more than one person works on schemas.

If you want to save the backups it is better to save backups from Dev and Productions systems.
