For many years now; I have been an active participant at the intersection of enterprise technology and human experience ( from a consumer, an employee and a team lead / member user experience). Whether it is implementing a CRM platform , enriching online consumer experiences or developing analytical capabilities to improve service  experience ; the "human" experience has always been at the center of the solution design. And I have enjoyed the journey.

I journeyed into the world of communication services , SMS and related API's as part of SAP Digital Interconnect approximately 5 years ago and realized the immense potential we had to improve upon that human experience.

Why do I believe so?

The online interface aka PC screen is a truly non-intuitive approach to human experience. It forces us to sit down and perform our tasks and over the decades has pushed us into a sedentary work style ( "terminal focused geeks" so to say). The mobile device, new communication services and AI/chatbot capabilities are now helping us re-transform that experience into an on-the-go "person" to "person" experience.

Recently, the SAP.io team conducted an internal hackathon event titled "Wehack accessibility challenge" focusing on employee-led innovations that incorporated assets from strategic cloud partners like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google to make the world a more inclusive place.

For me at SAP Digital Interconnect , the hackathon was a great place to showcase the idea of blending Alexa voice with our native SMS communication capabilities to positively impact employee experience . And I partnered with some amazing early talents in crystallizing the idea.

Our solution focused on the problem that anyone among us could be impacted by a physical impairment impacting productivity short or long -term .  In our example "Alex" is one such employee and our goal is to leverage the power of SAP to help Alex thrive despite her recent physical impairment - in other words SAP4Alex.
