Hi Everyone, My name is Gaurish Dessai and I’m a Principal Enterprise Architect at SAP. I am part of Global Enterprise Architecture Advisory team which works closely with our customers and on strategic projects. I am a hands-on Enterprise Architect, with over 13+ years of experience in Architecting and delivering programs from idea to adoption. I bring strong expertise in Supply chain, Sales, Digital, M&A, Divestiture, Sustainability & Manufacturing from both customer and consulting background.

My Session: An architect’s guide: SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP Databricks solutions - BDC2633. I am presenting together with Michelle Wiktorsson (Databricks) on 20th May 2025 at 1:00 PM - 1:40 PM EDT as part of the SAP Sapphire ASUG Pre-conference in Orlando.

I couldn’t be more excited about this! I started working in the SAP world as a junior SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) functional consultant in 2012. We were a bunch of fresh campus-hire graduates and received 2 months of intense SAP functional and technical training at the learning academy in Hyderabad.

As an junior SAP ‘resource’ working in support and projects from an offshore development center (ODC) for a very large client, attending SAP Sapphire was a distant dream! SAP Sapphire was when the whole ODC would be buzzing about latest launches by SAP for days and followed up by reading about them on SAP Community blog

Since then, 13 SAP Sapphire’s later, the moment came! I got confirmation of our session being selected for SAP Sapphire ASUG Pre-Conference at Orlando, I was over the moon.  It was actually my co-presenter, Michelle's idea to propose a join session on the topic of SAP Business Data Cloud  and Databricks tailored for Architects – and I am glad that we followed through with that idea.

So, here we are, less than 20 days as I write this post and we submit the first draft of our session for review with the ASUG team! In our session, we would be talking about aspects of SAP Business Data Cloud and Databricks which are critical for every architect to know.
