Hi guys,

I just want to ask because we have a requirement to move every transports that are being moved to Production and then move it to the Project landscape (N+1). See attached image.

Basically, how can we move or setup our STMS so that transports in our Production system be move to N+1 (Dev2)?

You will need to go to client 000 of both Project landcape systems and add them to the domain controller. If there are already a TMS configuration on those PL systems, you need to delete it first.

Then, on the domain controller you need to accept the connections. Then you have 2 options:

  1. All transport orders imported on PRD should be available on DEV2: in this case, you just need to add the system to the transport path, as it was another PRD.
  2. You want to control wich transport orders pass to DEV2: in this case, you don't change the path, and then you need to manually add the orders to the DEV2 queue.

I just want to also ask, are we going to have a problem for example, we are moving transport to Production but QA is down.

If QA is down for a long time, the best solution is to remove it from the TMS path.

When is back online, add it again.

Hello m14927 ,

not verified up to now, but wouldn't locking the system in the system overview be sufficient? Smaller effort than deleting and adding afterwards again (parameters etc.)...

Kind regards

Jan

It's a good point, but I'm not sure if with the lock, the system still is available as a destination for the transport.

If it's the case, then you will need to manually change the destination in every new transport order...

Hello Philip,

I agree with Manuel's suggestion to add all system in a single domain controller. The next thing you can do is to create a Transport Group and add PRD and DEV2 in this transport group.

Therefore, target for transports moving from QAS should be Transport Group instead of PRD. This is how TR will be available in import queue of both PRD and DEV2.

Please refer the screenshot.

Let me know in case of any queries.
