Hello all,
Quick one. We are planning BODS 4.2 SP14 to 4.3 SP2 upgrade. As per the PAM, only Oracle 19c and SQL Server 2016 onwards datastores are supported by SAP and we have 15+(out of the total) such datastores that are a mix of SQL server 2010, 2012, 2014 then Oracle 10, 11, 12 , thus none is SAP supported/certified.
Just wanted to check with the experts, if at all it would be a good idea to go ahead with BODS upgrade(starting with a POC ofcourse), or we should be considering to have the datastores upgraded first, to the compatible version for BODS 4.3 and then even think of doing BODS upgrade. Please if you may share your experiences around it.
Thanks,
Sumit

Hi,
You can upgrade the datastores first, check the impact it has on workflows, jobs etc. and then go ahead and perform SAP Data Services upgrade.

Hey Sumit Dey,
But do you think it would make sense to try BODS upgrade POC, do thorough testing on it and if everything looks good, we go ahead with the upgrade of BODS and later have the data stores upgraded, gradually. Does that sound to be a good plan also? What do you think? Shall we take that risk?
Thanks,
Sumit
